"Our hosts were superb!
The flat was even better than the photos, everything in pristine condition, clean, and equipped with everything necessary for a 2 week stay. The location is perfect for us: easy walk to bus and tube, short walk to the British Museum, the Wellcome Collection, the Petrie Museum, and the British Library, and convenient to train stations.
Many good restaurants in the area: the local pub, Skinners Arms' friendly staff fed us on a couple of evenings, Andy's Taverna (Greek) was a short bus ride north, and Waitrose, a block away, had everything we needed for meals in the flat (including some wonderful prepared food and a new cheese section!). Salt and Pepper, near the British Museum on Bloomsbury Street (across from Oxfam!) fed us several delicious and inexpensive lunches.
The location is convenient to everything, but on a side street so very quiet, especially at night. I'm a very light sleeper, but the exceptionally comfortable bed and the quiet (garden and trees out the window), gave me restful nights. The park at the end of the street is a lovely oasis of calm in the city.
The best thing about our stay, however, was our wonderful hosts. They met us on arrival (and were willing to accommodate us on an earlier than arranged arrival time!), explained everything about the flat and neighborhood to us (and left us with a very helpful red notebook which had everything written down in it for forgetful guests), and they were at the other end of the phone when we encountered something not in the book.
We visit London on a regular basis and this was by far, our best stay yet! We look forward to returning soon."
