  • An Island of charm and quietness in Chelsea

"We have just spent a week in Isabelle's flat and we would have willingly stayed one more week... The accommodation is clean, well equipped, comfortable and cosy, just as we had imagined from the description. The bed in the bedroom is perfect, its mattress both soft and firm. The shower à l'italienne only would be worth the trip. We enjoyed having our breakfast either in the charming kitchen or the small garden (the weather permitted it). King's Road is 4 minutes by foot and the 11, 22, 19 buses are frequent and bring you wherever you want in London. Among the many goodies in the neighborhood, Whole Foods at Fulham Broadway, the Saturday market in Duke of York Square, along with Saatchi gallery, etc. Last but not least: the very charming flat manager Robin. Internet is nice but Robin's personality, hints and anecdotes about Chelsea are the cherry on the cake. Thank you Isabelle for your availability and kindness. We hope to come again at 11 Burnaby street."

  • The Perfect Getaway

"I don't even know how to start my review because there are so many wonderful things I want to mention first! The bedroom is perfect. The blackout blinds are great for sleep or for midday naps, and the bed is so comfortable it's hard to drag yourself out. The downstairs area is great for having a small group over for dinner and a movie or game night (I found scrabble in a cabinet as well as several other games which made my day)! The kitchen is also great. Better than my kitchen at home! I looked forward to cooking meals and taking advantage of all that was available. The garden is so charming and beautiful. It's probably one of my favorite parts of the apartment because with the massive windows you can look out and see squirrels or birds while you enjoy your morning coffee. There are rose hips and pears growing in the garden, and you get a special satisfaction cooking with homegrown ingredients. The location is very convenient. Half a block away there is a mini market, bakery, and cafe/deli (which is DELICIOUS), so you don't have to stray far when you need something. A little further down and you get to Portobello Road where you can get fresh produce or find an amazing vintage piece. The owners were very kind and helpful. When you're unsure about how something works, odds are that there is a helpful note not too far away explaining what you should and shouldn't do. If you're not familiar with the area, don't be afraid to ask for tips, they're so accommodating and sweet! Highly recommend this place to almost every kind of person."

  • Comfortable and convenient

"We thoroughly enjoyed our week at Cornwall Gardens. The location is absolutely perfect — exactly as billed, within easy walking distance of many fabulous local restaurants, grocery and wine stores, museums, Hyde and Holland Parks. You could easily spend a week just exploring the neighbourhood, but as we had commitments all over the city, it was great to be a 5-minute walk from Gloucester Road tube station, which is served by the Piccadilly, Circle and District lines. You have to come expecting a typical older London block of flats – no fancy lobby with concierge, tiny elevator that we didn’t even venture into, and some stairs even if you do use the lift. But we found the flat very comfortable (and clean) and within a day felt completely at home. The owner clearly shares our preferences for lots of flexible lighting effects, comfy sofas by the (electric) fire, classical music and clocks! A chest of drawers for clothes would have been welcome, but there's a good amount of closet space and hangers. The outdoor deck off the conservatory is lovely – potted plants, a nice table and benches and views over the rooftops of London. Our arrival was a bit chaotic, since our flight was very early and caught the people responsible for settling us in off guard, but they rose to the challenge. We used the airport transfer service offered and found it prompt and efficient. Questions emailed to the property management were answered quickly. We plan to return and would definitely recommend to others."
