  • Charming and comfortable!

"Lovely home in a sleepy village..perfect for visiting local Cathar ruins, enchanting villages and lovely countryside. The artistic decor and local fabrics were warm and comfotable. I would definitely return...there is so much to discover in this area of the country."

  • Holiday in September

"We spent wonderful and very relaxing holidays in the house which has a special, individual flair. Everything was well prepared and organized, the host is a nice and also very generous person. The house is located in a perfect distance to Roses, far enough to enjoy the calmness out of town, but not too far away from restaurants, sights and supermarkets. Walking down to the beach - and afterwards up to the house - is a bit challenging."

  • Highlight of my trip to Sicily!

"What a memorable week at the villa, the figs were feasted upon, the vegetables were picked and eaten and the lasagne that Gabriella's mother freshly baked for us which awaited our arrival became one of the best meals in Sicily. I could go on but seriously Leanne and Pino you have a little bit of paradise there in Polizzi and it provided a welcome retreat from the pace of fabulous Palermo before and prepared us for the busy tourist track that we beat after staying at the villa. I loved sitting under the fig tree at night with some of the lovely wines you provided for guests, or swinging in the hammock with my book or looking at the town perched on the hilltop. You have created an inviting and comfortable space which speaks of being a much loved home rather than just a holiday rental. We enjoyed some hiking in the areas as well as sightseeing to some of the towns and beaches you suggested. There is so much to see in and around the beautiful Madonie and we struck a leisurely balance between doing things and simply absorbing the beautiful atmosphere of the villa. Thank you for genuinely wanting us to have the best stay in Sicily, I can honestly say that I did."

England Travel Tips

Eager to Get Away? Try England

England, with its ancient and rich history, is the largest country in the United Kingdom. It is home to many famous sites including Westminster Abbey, the Tower Bridge, Stonehenge, and the Globe Theatre. From its sprawling green countrysides to its modern metropolitan centers, England travel will afford you the cultural and peaceful retreat you are looking for. Many people consider London as the place to visit when coming to England. Other cities such as Manchester and Liverpool (home of the Beatles) are also worth a look.

Traveling to England

For most people visiting England, traveling by air will be the first, and longest, part of the journey. There is no shortage of flights going to and coming from the United Kingdom, so really it comes down to when you want to travel and how much you want to spend. You will find that the best-priced tickets are available for winter travel. It is during that time that many of the most popular attractions are less crowded and open. Another way to obtain affordable tickets is to plan a trip that has several destinations. As long as you have got the time and are up for the adventure, that may be a great way to spend your vacation! Just remember, when you fly internationally, get to the airport with plenty of time to spare-–at least two hours-–and make sure your passport is current.

Getting Around England

If you plan to stay in the metropolitan areas like London, public transportation is the way to go. There really is no need to rent a car. There is so much traffic and hardly any parking; who wants to deal with that? London has a really well organized public transport network that consists of the tube (subway) and buses. There are also plenty of black taxis willing to take you anywhere you would like to go.

Where to go in England

As you book England vacation rentals, it is essential to think about where you might want to go during your trip. A very popular pastime for tourists is to visit historic buildings and cathedrals throughout the country. In London alone, there is a wide selection of landmarks that you might want to see. Some of the most popular places to visit include Buckingham Palace, Windsor Castle, Canterbury Cathedral, the Tower of London, the London Bridge, and Canterbury Cathedral. And the London Zoo is always good for the kids! Think about the places you would like to see most and plan your trip and accommodations accordingly.

Outdoor Adventures in England

Who said vacationing in England meant you had to stay indoors? The great outdoors definitely calls to the Brits so once you reach England, it might do you some good to take in some fresh English air. The Lake District is a protected area that spans miles upon miles of pubs, walking trails, and lakes. Some of the most beautiful England cottages are located in the Lake District. If you would rather stay a little closer to the city, try Hyde Park in the heart of London. The park is filled with many monuments and will not take you away from the center of things for too long.

The Shopping is Amazing

When you visit England, London especially, you must not go home without a day of shopping. Even if you do not buy anything, the window shopping alone is worth talking about! London is one of the fashion capitals of the world which means you will have all the designer duds you can think of right at your fingertips. As you shop 'til you drop, the rest of your family might like a bite to eat. There are plenty of cafes, restaurants, and eateries offering a variety of gastronomic delights and locale fare.

Planning Your Trip Around the Weather

First and foremost, there is no dry season in England. Though the climate is fairly temperate, it is also very wet throughout the year. If you do not like cold, wet winters, the summer may be your best bet. Though there is still rain, the temperature is on the warmer side. No matter what time of year, do not forget to pack your umbrella and rain boots.
