"This was our (two couples of AARP vintage) third home stay venture in France and our unanimous favorite, with its painting-like views of the Dordogne River and valley...and nearby patisserie! The stone house and its decor and furnishings are lovely and comfortable, the kitchen charming and furnished with everything we needed to make all our meals. We took full advantage of the beautiful weather for outdoor dining and adventuring to the surrounding villages, castles, and prehistoric sites, and thatJeri and Paul, our wonderful hosts, were always there to answer questions. Sharing a glass of wine, and joining them and a group of friends on a Sunday hike will always be part of our fondest memories."

Les Volets Bleus is a great location, rural and quiet, but conveniently located
"Les Volets Bleus is a great location, rural and quiet, but conveniently located near many of the historical and scenic sites in the Dordogne, as well as the daily markets. The house was charming and very comfortable and well-appointed for our group of eight (four couples, which at one point became10 people, five couples), with enough spaces for all to spread out and rest, read, chat. And, we enjoyed the restaurant next door and those in nearby towns, but also loved "dining in" at the farmhouse with all the fresh market goods and wine we purchased daily - it was like a party every night! An almost daily event was a walk along the farm road and over the hill to Tremalot for morning pastries and back. Usually the pastries were eaten long before we reached the house. Since we were there in October the area was quieting down from the summer rush of tourists, which we found most pleasant since most of the group lives in Hawaii, which is a year around destination for visitors. It also turned out to be the warmest October world-wide and we had the most glorious early autumn weather. We had decided to stay at Les Volets Bleus on the recommendation of friends and it did not disappoint in any way. Most of the people in the group are retired or semi-retired, but quite active, and it suited us all. For the member of the group still working who could not put her job on hold the communications provided, internet and phone, allowed her to come with us and enjoy and at the same time keep her business going. Janice, the owner and hostess extraordinaire, was nearby and when she could she joined us in market adventures and touring, and was a wealth of information and suggestions. All in all a splendid vacation spent at an outstanding property, which we have recommended to friends and which we hope to visit again ourselves."

"We traveled to France for a friend's wedding. Before heading to the wedding in Normandy we decided to spend 7 days in Arcachon. The property is lovely and as pictures suggest. The owners are fantastic! Very helpful, friendly and easy to deal with, etc. Property location is fantastic, half a block from a beautiful church, two blocks to the beach, restaurants, bike rental, two blocks to a convenient store and other amenities. As a VRBO member and rental owner I recognise the extensive work put into caring for a property, maintaining it and making customer feel happy and welcome. Thank you Brigitte and Françoise!"

"We stayed for 7 days and the apartment was terrific! Great location, right in the center of city in a beautiful square, you can see the Opera house from the apartment window. A few blocks from the river with an excellent market and the river walk was beautiful at night, restaurants and historical sites all within walking distance. The city of Bordeaux and the apartment exceeded my expectations.
The apartment was neat and clean, just like the pictures, everything was in top working condition. We were a party of four adults and it was the perfect size. Martine provided excellent customer service and was available if we needed anything. I will highly recommend this apartment to my friends and family."
