  • Perfect property for touring the Dordogne region

"We thoroughly enjoyed our week at this wonderful, tranquil property and wish that we had stayed longer. St. Vincent de Cosse is a charming, quiet village that is conveniently located 5-15 minutes away from must-see towns in the Dordogne region including Beynac, Castelnaud and La Roque Gageac. We are so glad that we did not stay in Sarlat (huge) or Beynac - both were very touristy. The property has beautiful views. There is a large grocery store and gas station 7 km away from the house adding to the convenience. The property itself is lovely and spacious. The kitchen has everything you could possibly desire and there is a large living room (with English TV channels) and a large dining room. We never used the dining room though because the outside patio terrace was so beautiful. You can hear sheep, donkeys and church bells throughout the day adding to the charm. They have nice mattresses and pillows so we slept comfortably as well. Our two daughters, ages 7 & 10, loved the house, the backyard area (petanque court and swing), and especially the pool. We were concerned about having no air conditioning in August but the stone house was incredibly cool and we were quite comfortable. The owners were extremely responsive to two small problems that we had while we were there and they have been wonderful to deal with throughout the booking process. They also provided a wealth of information including kayaking vendors and restaurant recommendations. We give this property our highest recommendation and the region is the most beautiful we have toured in France."

  • A Medieval Jewel

"Sarlat la Caneda is a medieval jewel of a city, and this beautifully renovated apartment is right in its heart, giving the unique experience of living in another time. The narrow wood spiral staircase leads to a lovely living room on the first level above the street and a comfortable bedroom on the second. Be prepared for the steep climb and different levels, but fit travelers will have no problem. Parking is nearby, and the surrounding countryside offers wonderful sightseeing from castles to prehistoric caves. Great local food and wine are here as well in a fine selection of restaurants within walking distance. Sebastian was a warm and welcoming host, and we would happily return."

  • Couldn't have been better

"This was our (two couples of AARP vintage) third home stay venture in France and our unanimous favorite, with its painting-like views of the Dordogne River and valley...and nearby patisserie! The stone house and its decor and furnishings are lovely and comfortable, the kitchen charming and furnished with everything we needed to make all our meals. We took full advantage of the beautiful weather for outdoor dining and adventuring to the surrounding villages, castles, and prehistoric sites, and thatJeri and Paul, our wonderful hosts, were always there to answer questions. Sharing a glass of wine, and joining them and a group of friends on a Sunday hike will always be part of our fondest memories."
