  • Gorgeous retreat in the center of Beaune

"My in-laws and I have recently returned from a week in Beaune, staying in JJ and Agnes's gorgeous home right in the middle of the city. We cannot say enough good things about the apartment, which really does feel like a castle and is even more beautiful than the pictures show. We loved our time there and we were so grateful for the hospitality of JJ and Agnes. My husband and his parents took full advantage of the city's wine culture, and we were perfectly situated for all of the tastings and classes they enjoyed, including tasting wines at JJ & Agnes's wine bar, just downstairs! I am pregnant, though, and could not partake in the amazing wine Beaune has to offer, but I found so many ways to fill the days, taking our 2 year old daughter around the city. So many things just beyond the doorstep of the apartment - a lovely park, a carousel in a nearby plaza, and a million beautiful cobblestone streets to wander down. I am hoping to return next summer with my own parents and siblings so that I can show them this amazing city and gorgeous apartment!"

  • Les Bons Enfants - fabulous and perfect location!

"After staying in a Paris hotel for a week, Les Bons Enfants was a breath of fresh air and the perfect antidote to cramped, confined hotel rooms spaces. As a family of 4 adults and 1 infant, we were delighted to find the apartment met all our requirements. Very tastefully decorated, it was comforting and relaxing and child friendly, yet with a feeling of luxury. Bright and airy, the apartment had great views over the surrounding rooftops of Dijon and was spotlessly clean. Although we had looked at the location before booking, we had no real concept of how close it was to all the sights of Dijon. Literally less than a minute's walk and your at the Place de la Liberation with it's beautiful fountains and many restaurants. Perfect for an evening coffee and dessert. The main shopping street Rue de la Liberte continues on from this, so it was very easy to walk every and enjoy the historic town. We also opted to take part in Viviane and Laure's Open Air Market tour and lunch, available when the Les Halles Markets are on. It is a food lovers paradise! So many delicacies to see and buy, and it also included a stop in at the famous Maille mustard shop, a chocolaterie and fromagarie. Viviane and Laure purchased some delicious morsels form the market and the fromagerie to go with the fabulous 5 course lunch that was prepared and enjoyed in the comfort of Laure's apartment. The food was outstanding and the company even better. We could not recommend this option enough! All in all our stay in Dijon was the highlight of our trip to France, made extra special by the warmth and friendliness shown to us by our lovely host host Viviane!"

  • Simply fantastic - nothing less !!

"We simply loved the place. The house is not only charming - it has everything anyone would need. And it is right in the middle of a surrounding (the city of Flavigny) who's charm one cannot believe until you are really there. We had a great vacation with so many memories, that we strongly recommend this - including the beautiful house - to anyone reading this. We have promised ourselves that we will be back next year."

  • Beaune Vacances!

"What a perfect spot in the heart of Beaune, central to much exploring by foot in town. Perfect parking spot luckily outside of apt. Didn't need my car, except for a few excursions, plus I had to fly into Lyon. Lovely to sit in the kitchen over looking inner courtyard with a glass of Bourgogne Hautes-Côtes de Beaune courtesy of owners-merci! The living area very comfortable and a good spot to curl up when it rains with a book, cheese from the wonderful Hess store in Place Carnot and wine of course! The two sets of bedrooms are nicely separated by the living room. A great Perfect location to explore both Wed & Sat (bigger) markets, as well the brocante (antique/flea market). Handy for The Cook's Atelier (Bookable in advance on Rue de Lorraine) where I needed to be. Spacious light and airy apt, just as seen on-line. Well equipped if you choose to cook for yourself or have light bites. The owners were extremely helpful in providing information to get to apt as well as the many things to do in and around Beaune. There are many restaurants in Beaune, however, as a passionate cook I am often disappointed- hence a lesson at the Cook's Atelier. If I were to treat myself or being treated, dinner at La Ciboullette (Michelin Guide) near the Port of Saint Nicholas on Rue de Lorraine. Isabelle, the hostess is très charmante! La Ciboulette certainly gives you a welcome break from touristy food- who eats coq au vin or boeuf bourguignon in the middle of summer? I was hunting for the "Les Routiers" (truckers stop on Rue de Bretonniere), good reports from apt owners and friends- I couldn't find it (? directionally challenged). Caves des Madeleine has changed hands and the chef uses his own organically grown veg; the previous owner has a wine bar Dilettante with light bites such as salade de chevre chaud on Rue de Bretonniere (just as you enter the road off the peripherique on the left. I would recommend this apt for its ideal location. If you don't need to drive or much, the train station is so close. The owners are very helpful in suggesting car rental, etc. If you are driving, I suggest a picturesque drive along the Routes de Grands Vins, perhaps lunch in Santenay. I found Hotel Restaurant L'Ouillette, charming with patio over looking the Main Square; excellent food and wine bien sûr. Do book ahead if you want to visit Domaine Prieur Brunet- I missed out, plus it was a Sunday- dommage!"
