"We have just spent 12 fantastic days in this very nice apartment in the center of Beaune. The apartment had everything we needed and it was clean and well-maintained. Lots to see in town and in the area, and since it was very hot it was a big plus for our children ( and ourselves) aged 8 and 11 that there is a public pool a five minutes walk away. There is also the very nice Beaune cote plage at the outskirts of town where you can swim i 4 natural ponds. You can buy lots of good food in the stores and on the market, especially cheese, bread and sausages. The local bakers had really good bread and the worlds best croissants. Of the restaurants we tried the two best were the La Tavola Calda with good pizzas and pasta and the french bistro Le Carnot which has very good food to very reasonable prices. Of course there was a lot good wines too. Take a trip to some of the wineyards in the area and learn about wine and taste wines. And not least a very big thank you to our fantastic host Jocelyne who made our vacation in Beaune such a great experience. She provided extremely good customer and was very helpfull recommending what to see in Beaune, where to eat, what local food to try etc. We can really recommend this property and we will definetely visit Beaune again in the future."

"Four of us arrived on a very warm Burgundy day. We were delighted to walk into the cool environment of Le Relais du Vieux Beaune. The thick stone walls and shutters kept the rooms cool during the day and opened to fresh air at night.
The four of us had read Laura's two books so knew to expect wonderful colors and a great sense of French country style. The kitchen was amazingly well equipped and allowed for some home cooked meals using products from the Beaune Farmer's Market and the wonderful boulangerie 1/2 block away. The apartment is a short walk away from the town proper so shopping trips were easy to accomplish.
We were particularly interested in visiting the vineyards and wineries and such a selection and history were amazing. We were delighted to visit Laura's friend Clare's winery where the quality was fine and the prices amazingly low.
The information in the notebooks which had been prepared to cover every part of a visit were so helpful and made for entertaining reading.
There are so many terrific places to eat that it is hard to pick favorites. In Beaune, Le Ciboulette was delicious and the service great. Two favorites that were out of the town were La Buissonniere in Ladoix-Serrigny and La Cave de Guy in Gevrey-Chambertin.
We look forward to returning again."

"We could not have asked for a better apartment stay in Beaune. Joce is a wonderful hostess and we felt so welcome in her apartment. Thank you for the treats, the wine, the information and everything that you have put in your apartment to make it such a wonderful place to stay. The apartment is large and perfectly positioned in Beaune and we loved exploring Beaune and other parts of Burgundy from here. The private parking place is a great bonus as well. I would highly recommend this apartment to anyone looking for a place to stay."

"We just got back from a week staying in the lovely Maison de la Vieille Vigne! Having read about the house and Laura’s and Franck’s exploits in restoring it, we were excited to finally get here. Our trip had to be postponed a year due to a sudden death in our family, and Franck and Laura couldn’t have been more gracious or flexible in dealing with our changed circumstances, which made it all the more meaningful to finally arrive!
The house is tucked away behind the main road through the tiny village of Villers-la-Faye, about 10 minutes from Beaune by car (less if you’re a French driver, which I am not). It’s a wonderfully appointed and designed cottage! Our favorite features are admittedly the more modern amenities: the skylights, the washer and dryer (not a small concern considering our total vacation was three weeks!), the modern shower, and the full kitchen! We made our breakfasts here on many mornings, which helped us feel like we were living as locals for a while!
The town is very centrally located for the Cote d’Or, a region we’d never been to and are still only just discovering. After a week of driving around it, I can say this location is perfect, and the quiet village home makes for a peaceful and relaxing stay. There’s very little traffic, and we rarely saw neighbors, although the adjacent house next door had a family dinner most nights, which made the neighborhood feel homey.
We used the patio furniture for breakfasts and one picnic lunch, as well. The weather was perfect, highs in the 80s, and having a patio to relax on was another great feature of the house. We also loved having the windows open, where a nice breeze coupled with the thick stone walls meant that the house never got too warm, even on a hot spring day!
I highly recommend this cottage as a springboard for any kind of adventure in Burgundy!"
