"Four of us arrived on a very warm Burgundy day. We were delighted to walk into the cool environment of Le Relais du Vieux Beaune. The thick stone walls and shutters kept the rooms cool during the day and opened to fresh air at night.
The four of us had read Laura's two books so knew to expect wonderful colors and a great sense of French country style. The kitchen was amazingly well equipped and allowed for some home cooked meals using products from the Beaune Farmer's Market and the wonderful boulangerie 1/2 block away. The apartment is a short walk away from the town proper so shopping trips were easy to accomplish.
We were particularly interested in visiting the vineyards and wineries and such a selection and history were amazing. We were delighted to visit Laura's friend Clare's winery where the quality was fine and the prices amazingly low.
The information in the notebooks which had been prepared to cover every part of a visit were so helpful and made for entertaining reading.
There are so many terrific places to eat that it is hard to pick favorites. In Beaune, Le Ciboulette was delicious and the service great. Two favorites that were out of the town were La Buissonniere in Ladoix-Serrigny and La Cave de Guy in Gevrey-Chambertin.
We look forward to returning again."

"We stayed in this super house for a week in mid September. It was perfect for us and the other couple traveling with us. We had spent 5 nights in Paris, then to the Normandy area and to the Loire Valley area vising the Chateau region. We then spent a week in Semur. This was the perfect place for us to relax at this great house and leisurely take our time driving to wonderful nearby towns and sites. The owners had provided us with detailed information about places to visit, eat and enjoy. We ate great meals in the charming old part of Semur as well as cooked in the well equipped house. We had happy hour on the patio by the river- such fun! We will definitely book this home again when we return to France."

"Two of us spent 3 nights in this gorgeous apartment as we were visiting La Charite for work. Byron and Kelly could not have been more helpful- from meeting us at the train station on arrival to taking us back at the end of our stay- laden with work documents but also much of the fine produce to be bought locally. The apartment is very spacious and well equipped, with plentiful supplies of fluffy towels in the well appointed bathrooms. The tower was a real treat, giving spectacular views of the church and the town and is well worth the (slightly) precarious climb! As the apartment is vey conveniently located in the main street everything is close at hand in this extremely beautiful and interesting town. Kelly's recommendation to visit the master chocolatier, whose shop is built into the priory walls- was much appreciated as I have never tasted such heavenly chocolates, marshmallows and jellied fruits. I'm amazed any of them made it home as gifts! I would thoroughly recommend staying here and can't wait to return- for both work and pleasure!"
