  • Can't wait to go back!

"My parents and I stayed 4 nights in this property, and we could have stayed forever! It was such an enchanting house, with the kind of charm we only dreamed of finding on our trip to Dijon. The weather was perfect, and we were able to enjoy dinner out on the patio dining table almost every night, as well as breakfast and coffee there each morning. The ambiance of the home, and the adjacent orchard, garden, vineyards, and yard was beyond our expectations. the photos do not do it justice. The house itself is well-equipped. The kitchen has nearly everything you could need, including cookware and some basic spices. The closets were stocked with insecticides (for which we were thankful in the summer!), basic cleaning supplies to keep the kitchen nice, and a lovely fan that came in handy at night. The beds are comfortable and the linens updated. The whole house was very clean and well-maintained, while retaining the perfect balance of updated features and the charm of another era. There were many books and interesting things in the home to give it charm and function, and Manfred provided many resources to help us in our travels, such as maps, books, and a booklet of local information. We were only three people staying in this large house, and would have been comfortable with 6 or more people. Since we had a rental car, the home was very convenient to drive to the market (5 min) or into town (10-15 min), but felt remote and quiet, just as we wanted. While the wifi did not work very well, we were able to connect periodically and check email, and it forced us to unplug and enjoy the gorgeous surroundings of the property. The laundry machine (combination wash/dry) was tricky to figure out, and takes quite a while to run, but was a lifesaver for our trip (and allowed us to pack lighter). Manfred was a perfect host, stopping by to offer tips periodically, and just a text message away for anything we needed. He is very friendly and kind, and was a great resource. The best part of the trip was the cherries coming off one tree in the orchard! We were able to pick and enjoy them the whole trip! Such a lovely (and delicious) surprise!) I hope very much that I am able to return to Dijon and stay in this property again."

  • A great stay in beautiful Beaune!

"Joce is a fabulous host, very warm, very welcoming and full of useful information. She met us opposite the apartment, we unloaded our bags and then she guided us to a parking station just around the corner and provided us with a free pass for the duration of our stay. This ground floor apartment is spacious, very clean and in a great location. It is in the old centre of town with a great boulangerie just 50 metres at the end of the street. At the other end of the road is the main street with a pedestrian mall leading to the town square only a few minutes away. The apartment will comfortably accommodate 4 people in the 2 double-bed rooms with plenty of clothes hanging space. The lounge area has a sofa, 2 chairs, coffee table, cable TV and leads out to a lovely small open courtyard; perfect for drinks! The kitchen is fully equipped with a good sized fridge & freezer, oven, cook top, dishwasher, microwave, drip coffee maker and all the utensils for cooking up a fabulous meal of great local produce. The dining area has a table with 6 chairs, ample crockery and cutlery for comfortable meals. A high chair and an assortment of games and books are also provided. The bathroom is also well sized with a step-in bath/shower, which thankfully doesn’t have to be a hand held shower, & a heated towel rail. There’s an efficient washer/dryer combo for doing laundry & the toilet is separate to the bathroom. This is a wonderful place to stay to visit Beaune and as a base for exploring the fabulous Burgundy area. Thanks Joce for a great stay."

  • Girls getaway

"We had a wonderful week in this lovely home set in a traditional french village. This gite truly had everything we could need and more. The description and photos are spot on. But as you enter the foyer you realize this is what you have come to France for. An ancient home, perfectly restored, all the modern amenities, keeping all the charm. We appreciated the two sinks in the main bathroom and the extra toilet on the ground floor, as well as the extra shower on the top floor. We were too busy sightseeing, having a Kir at the Bar du Chateau, preparing dinner purchased from the Boucherie and two bakeries to watch any TV, but there are a lot of DVD'S to choose from. Tom and Sharon are very helpful with any questions and were always quick to respond to my emails. There is a great red folder with brochures for all the sights close by in the foyer. We especially enjoyed the village of Noyers sur Serein, Vezelay, Fontenay Abbey, Tanlay and the enchanting Chateau d'Ancy-le-Franc. The house is spotlessly clean, we never had any noise issues, slept well and were thankful we had found such a perfect vacation spot. Don't miss market day in Ancy. A week was not enough time to do everything and we look forward to returning to Burgundy."
