"We are three retired ladies who have all been to France before but have never enjoyed or experienced such a wonderful holiday as our two and a half weeks stay in the Benedictine Suite in La Charite-sur-Loire. The lovely house in the heart of a most interesting town was well appointed and extremely comfortable. Its position enabled us to enjoy an easy walk to shops, cafes, restaurants - everything necessary to make our stay most enjoyable. Although centrally located it was extremely quiet except for the lovely sound of church bells next door chiming throughout the day. We hired a car for some of the time to visit some of the many interesting places in the area but we also took quite a few day trips by train to other lovely towns/villages on the train line - a very pleasant and easy way to enjoy travelling through the countryside.
The owners, Kelly and Byron were extremely helpful, offering advice and prompt assistance whenever needed. We thoroughly enjoyed Byron's walking tour through the town soon after we arrived. Also a wonderful wine and cheese tasting evening in their 16th century cellar.
Their knowledge of La Charite is extensive and their enthusiasm for this lovely town was contagious. We would love to spend time there again."

"Two of us spent 3 nights in this gorgeous apartment as we were visiting La Charite for work. Byron and Kelly could not have been more helpful- from meeting us at the train station on arrival to taking us back at the end of our stay- laden with work documents but also much of the fine produce to be bought locally. The apartment is very spacious and well equipped, with plentiful supplies of fluffy towels in the well appointed bathrooms. The tower was a real treat, giving spectacular views of the church and the town and is well worth the (slightly) precarious climb! As the apartment is vey conveniently located in the main street everything is close at hand in this extremely beautiful and interesting town. Kelly's recommendation to visit the master chocolatier, whose shop is built into the priory walls- was much appreciated as I have never tasted such heavenly chocolates, marshmallows and jellied fruits. I'm amazed any of them made it home as gifts! I would thoroughly recommend staying here and can't wait to return- for both work and pleasure!"
