  • Superb!

"Relaxing, beautiful, comfortable! If you want an extremely pleasant experience, you have found the place to stay. After a fun day exploring Amboise and its environs, my grown family of five would return to this lovely retreat and have a great night's sleep. Thank you, Karine and Thierry, for providing such a lovely apartment for our use. It is a little slice of heaven!"

  • Great Location in Amboise!

"Six of stayed in the "penthouse" apartment at Villaconcorde. Great location. Castle Amboise is directly across the street! Great view and convenience to both the castle and the rest that Amboise has to offer (which is considerable)! Living area, kitchen and downstairs bathrooms are very nice. There is only one negative: The "loft" bedroom and bathroom are attractive, but the low, slanted ceilings are a challenge for people who aren't very short. That room might be best for children about age 6 to teens. The owner was very friendly and helpful in arranging taxis for us. The wine they have available is excellent!"

  • A delightful property and experience

"My wife and I spent a lovely week at “The Paquerie” in the middle of October. The property was beautifully situated on the side of a hill overlooking a river valley. The place was quiet and secluded yet we were within a 10 minute drive to the center of Amboise. The property is also well situated for touring the entire Loire Valley (I suggest getting off the highways and taking the back roads.) The “Troglodyte” was well appointed, updated and clean. It’s a cave but it does not feel like one. The bed was large/comfortable and the bathroom/shower was large and modern. The interior is white washed and the ceiling height was high. We had a small refrigerator for wine and snacks. The place was stocked with a complimentary bottle of Champaign as well as with tea, hot chocolate and coffee. The WiFi worked perfectly but we had no TV (We did not miss the TV.) At night the cave was absolutely quiet. We were also provided parking just in front. My wife and I could not have asked for anything more from the place. It was “Our home in the Loire” and it really did feel like home for us. Besides the obvious beauty and history of the area, one of our best experiences was having the opportunity of getting to know Therese and Brian. After just a short period of time, they really did feel like family to us. They were not intrusive in any way and engaged us as much and as often as we wanted but after spending some time with them it was very obvious to both my wife and I that they helped make our Loire experience truly unique and special. They gave us help/insight into our open itinerary with suggestions on tourist sites, driving routes, restaurants and markets. Therese was up every morning with a wonderful selection of hot croissants, yogurt, fresh fruit and homemade jams along with coffee/tea. Both Brian and Therese are insightful and intelligent people. Brian has lived and experienced life in so many ways. Our conversations with him were a true delight. I hope our paths cross again! Ann & Mark"

  • Everything you could want!

"We chose this apartment, in part, because of the fabulous reviews; I'm delighted to be able to add another one! My husband and our 15-year-old granddaughter and I spent a week in Chateau Chaptal and couldn't have been more pleased. From the ease of getting the keys in advance to the PERFECT location to one of the best showers we've seen in Europe, this place has it all. The apartment is well-maintained and very, very clean. The layout of the kitchen/dining area/sitting area is perfect for being together and still feeling like you have your own space. The beds are large (no footboards, which is a huge plus for my 6'4" husband!) and extremely comfortable. We cook when we travel and the pots and pans were of high quality -- what a luxury! Having struggled with European appliances over the years, I found Sandra and Tim's detailed instructions for everything from the washer and dryer to the dishwasher extremely helpful. And, finally, the property manager, Serge, lives about a block away and speaks English. He couldn't have been more lovely and helpful. Amboise is a wonderful town and being three doors off the main pedestrian street was great -- especially because there is no street noise. A relatively new bakery (L'Horloge) on Rue Nationale was wonderful and the gelato place (Amorino) on the square across from the Chateau has wonderful hot chocolate with homemade chantilly cream. We tried the famous Bigot hot chocolate, too, and definitely preferred Amorino's! Go, stay -- you won't be disappointed!"
