  • A very special holiday apartment

"You are always a little nervous when you book a holiday home over the internet but you really have nothing to worry about with this lovely apartment. The booking process was easy with paypal for security and I also telephoned Veronique who spoke really good English and was able to provide lots of information. Etienne welcomed us to the apartment and was really helpful, providing us with information about where to visit eat etc and he even took us to his local garage and translated for us when we had car trouble. The apartment also has so many books about the local area and the Chateaux which were very useful. The apartment is truly lovely - we travelled with my daughter , son, and his girlfriend all in their late teens, early twenties and we were all delighted. The apartment is right beside the castle with lovely views from all of the bedroom windows of the castle and the loire. I spent quite a long time looking out of the windows admiring the view during the week. The rooms are all really spacious and the furnishings fit so well with this lovely old house. The bedding was also lovely and crisp. There are also 2 bathrooms and a separate loo which make it much easier for a large family. There is also a lovely little garden to enjoy the sunshine. My children also really enjoyed having wifi. The location of the apartment is also really good being just a few minutes walk from the lovely centre with all its cafe's restaurants and shops so after a day sight seeing it was easy to stroll to the centre for something to eat without having to worry about driving. There were restaurants also to suit all budgets. During the week we visited the Chateau in Amboise, Clos Luce ( home of Leonardo da Vinci), Chambord and Chenonceau and the lovely Beauval Zoo. There are so many places within easy reach you will have trouble choosing and the roads weren't busy even in the school summer holidays. We all feel really lucky to have found such a lovely place and have no hesitation in recommending it to you. Thank you Etienne and Veronique for sharing your lovely home with us."

  • Serene setting with an abundance of charm!

"What a fantastic time at Lebelvedere. Lovely historic home filled with beautiful antiques and works of art. My husband and I stayed three nights and wished we could have extended the visit. The cottage we stayed in was very spacious. Enjoyed late afternoons just sitting in the garden reading and drinking excellent wine from the region. Lebelvedere is in a village we found to be very welcoming. Great places to walk along the river through parks and to a winery. Located just a short block to the town square with cafes, restaurants, and shops. Enjoyed eating at the square and walking back to the home, without having to drive. Dominque and Jean are wonderful hosts recommending chateaus, museums, and restaurants. Two of our favorite memories are the aerial tour of the chateaus by Jean and the Leonardo di Vinci museum. My husband was in the Air Force and he and Jean, a former pilot, could have talked for hours about planes. Dominque is very gracious and prepared a wonderful selection of croissants, breads, cheese, beverages and homemade yogurt for breakfast. Delightful way to start each day. Would recommend it to anyone interested in a special treat!"

  • perfect!

"I would echo Sara G's review on everything pertaining to this apartment. We thought the location was perfect because everything needed was within a short walk. Sandra's detailed information (and keys) received prior to leaving the US was a huge bonus. In all the apartments we've rented over the years, I've always been frustrated that this level of information isn't available. I've often had to download user manuals just to figure out the washer and dryer in an apartment outside the US. We did encounter a problem when we arrived but Sandra got it fixed within a short time. All in all, a very good choice."

  • A country retreat in the Loire Valley

"The loft was a perfect retreat after the bustle of Paris. So quiet and loved driving along the country lanes to get to the chateaux. A long soak in the bath with a glass of wine after walking all day did the trick. Great hosts you made sure we had everything we needed and more even grapes picked right off the pergola. You must have dinner at Le Flueray restaurant as impeccable."

Amboise Travel Tips

Experience Beauty with Amboise Vacation Rentals

Amboise lies quietly on the bank of the river. The picturesque town will provide you with a variety of different activities. The foliage in this area of France is gorgeous. Gardens, fountains, and little copses of trees can be found in surprising places throughout town and lend a beautiful kind of charm to the riverside town. Simply walking through the narrow streets of the town will provide you with beautiful and unique sites.

Tour Historic Sites

One of the greatest draws of Amboise travel is the presence of such historical sites as the Château, and Clos-Luce—the residence of Leonardo da Vinci. Both of these sites are open to tours and offer shows on certain days of the week. At the home of Leonardo da Vinci, you can see an exhibit of da Vinci’s inventions. The castle also offers tours. The castle is a combination of both Gothic and medieval architecture as it was added to by Charles VIII and following rulers.

Enjoy the Local Parts of Town

While Amboise does have interesting tourist sites like the castle and Clos-Luce, the local parts of town are also notable. The open market takes place on Saturday and Sunday mornings by the riverside. Local produce and crafts are displayed and sold in the market. Instead of a manufactured tourist item, remember your stay with something more authentic from the local market. Stroll the streets and shops of the town without a map or destination and you will make surprising and memorable discoveries.

Stay in Style

Centre Loire Valley villas can provide you with everything you need in a vacation home. Find the perfect vacation home for you and your family in Amboise. Whether it is a restored vineyard cottage, or an eighteenth century cottage house, you can find the perfect place to stay.
