Exploring the Loire Valley from a fantastic apartment in the beautiful town of Amboise!
"Five of us, my daughter, her husband, my wife's sister, my wife and myself spent a wonderful week in this apartment. It is a lovely apartment and the views from the apartment windows are unbelievable. Each bedroom window has a direct view of the Amboise chalet next door. The town of Amboise is wonderful and so much fun to walk around in during the times we were not driving other places to see other chalets. We loved the big market on Sunday morning and the smaller market on Friday. The apartment is located near everything. There are lots of restaurants nearby. The renting of the apartment was very easy and all of our questions that we asked were answered very quickly. Etienne met us at the apartment and showed us around. The week we were there was the hottest week they have had but with the fans that were in the apartment and open windows we had no problems staying cool. We enjoyed the space of the apartment and appreciated having such a nice place to stay. We had rented a car on arrival in Paris so were able to go to several other chalets that were nearby. We loved all of the chalets and the flower gardens. It is a beautiful area! This is a wonderful place to stay for a great time in the Loire valley area. Would highly recommend it to anyone wanting to explore the Loire valley. It would be great for families with children also!"

"First of all our host, Karine as wonderful. We had a little trouble finding the apartment and she patiently guided us to the right spot. Upon arrival, Karine took great care to explain all workings of the apartment and where various businesses were located (super market, restaurants) My wife and I stayed in the 1 bedroom ground floor apartment at Villaconcorde as a gift from my colleagues in the US and they couldn't have picked a better apartment for us. The Villaconcorde is located literally at the base of Chateau Amboise which gives a great old charm feel to the stay. On the opposite side of the Chateau is the entrance along a quaint street with a number of restaurants and shops. We loved everything about our stay - Karine was the best, the location can't be beat, the apartment is quaint, clean and well equipped, and the Chateau is a fabulous for an afternoon visit!!!!"

"This property is in an excellent position to visit the many Chateaux and wineries in this area. The cottage is very comfortable for two couples with two bathrooms and very spacious bedrooms with comfortable beds. The stairs could be a problem for less able people. The courtyard is a delight on warm evenings. To be able to walk to the village in two minutes for banking, fresh bread and meals is perfect. Car parking is available off street. The owner is next door and very helpful welcoming us with a bottle of local wine. We had a most enjoyable comfortable stay."

"My wife and I spent a lovely week at “The Paquerie” in the middle of October. The property was beautifully situated on the side of a hill overlooking a river valley. The place was quiet and secluded yet we were within a 10 minute drive to the center of Amboise. The property is also well situated for touring the entire Loire Valley (I suggest getting off the highways and taking the back roads.)
The “Troglodyte” was well appointed, updated and clean. It’s a cave but it does not feel like one. The bed was large/comfortable and the bathroom/shower was large and modern. The interior is white washed and the ceiling height was high. We had a small refrigerator for wine and snacks. The place was stocked with a complimentary bottle of Champaign as well as with tea, hot chocolate and coffee. The WiFi worked perfectly but we had no TV (We did not miss the TV.) At night the cave was absolutely quiet. We were also provided parking just in front. My wife and I could not have asked for anything more from the place. It was “Our home in the Loire” and it really did feel like home for us.
Besides the obvious beauty and history of the area, one of our best experiences was having the opportunity of getting to know Therese and Brian. After just a short period of time, they really did feel like family to us. They were not intrusive in any way and engaged us as much and as often as we wanted but after spending some time with them it was very obvious to both my wife and I that they helped make our Loire experience truly unique and special. They gave us help/insight into our open itinerary with suggestions on tourist sites, driving routes, restaurants and markets.
Therese was up every morning with a wonderful selection of hot croissants, yogurt, fresh fruit and homemade jams along with coffee/tea. Both Brian and Therese are insightful and intelligent people. Brian has lived and experienced life in so many ways. Our conversations with him were a true delight.
I hope our paths cross again!
