Girlfriends exploring France
"Enjoyed our stay at St Cardinal. Walking distance to sites. Especially enjoyed the market and ability to cook at the house with fresh products. Such a treat"

"This is an absolutely beautiful 19th century house with beautiful gardens. We stayed in the family suite. Our bedroom window overlooked a rose arbor that was in bloom. The town is exactly what we imagined a small French town to be. We truly enjoyed walking around in the evenings. It is convenient to the sights of the Loire Valley. Dominique was very personable and full of good advice about what to see and restaurants etc. The breakfast was excellent with homemade yogurt. As a bonus it has parking, rare in France."

"We had a wonderful time at the Coachman's House apartment. It is very elegantly furnished and decorated, clean, quiet, and comfortable. It is also in a great central location in Amboise and we found Amboise to be the perfect base point for exploring the rest of the Loire valley. Pascale was a wonderful hostess and was very kind and accommodating. We hope to return here again in the future. Merci beaucoup, Pascale!"

"My wife and I spent a lovely week at “The Paquerie” in the middle of October. The property was beautifully situated on the side of a hill overlooking a river valley. The place was quiet and secluded yet we were within a 10 minute drive to the center of Amboise. The property is also well situated for touring the entire Loire Valley (I suggest getting off the highways and taking the back roads.)
The “Troglodyte” was well appointed, updated and clean. It’s a cave but it does not feel like one. The bed was large/comfortable and the bathroom/shower was large and modern. The interior is white washed and the ceiling height was high. We had a small refrigerator for wine and snacks. The place was stocked with a complimentary bottle of Champaign as well as with tea, hot chocolate and coffee. The WiFi worked perfectly but we had no TV (We did not miss the TV.) At night the cave was absolutely quiet. We were also provided parking just in front. My wife and I could not have asked for anything more from the place. It was “Our home in the Loire” and it really did feel like home for us.
Besides the obvious beauty and history of the area, one of our best experiences was having the opportunity of getting to know Therese and Brian. After just a short period of time, they really did feel like family to us. They were not intrusive in any way and engaged us as much and as often as we wanted but after spending some time with them it was very obvious to both my wife and I that they helped make our Loire experience truly unique and special. They gave us help/insight into our open itinerary with suggestions on tourist sites, driving routes, restaurants and markets.
Therese was up every morning with a wonderful selection of hot croissants, yogurt, fresh fruit and homemade jams along with coffee/tea. Both Brian and Therese are insightful and intelligent people. Brian has lived and experienced life in so many ways. Our conversations with him were a true delight.
I hope our paths cross again!
Ann & Mark"
