  • Fabulous location, wonderful host, super clean

"This is a perfect location for day trips in the Loire Valley. The apartment is modern, with more amenities than you will ever need. The bedroom has exposed beams on the wall, very lovely. Pascal was very helpful and recommended restaurants, cheese shops and bakeries all within walking distance. I would stay again!!!"

  • Outstanding location!

"We stayed in this pretty little cottage to tour several Chateaus/Castles. The location is outstanding. The home where Di Vinci lived the last years of his life (it looks like a castle) is located a short walking distance right at the end of the street from the cottage and is a must see. Several interesting and gorgeous Castles are within driving distance. The town of Ambosie is lovely and has a wonderful open market. It also has everything you need (restaurants, post office, shops etc) and is walkable, quaint, interesting and friendly. Within a short drive there is a large super market and gas station. There are local small markets and restaurants that are listed in a booklet the owner has kindly provided. The owner was easy to work with and responded quickly to our inquiries via email. The cottage is nicely decorated and clean! It is comprised of one room with a separate bathroom. Within the one room is a well stocked kitchen, a comfortable bed for two and a couch/sofa that converts to a bed. There are several stairs that lead up to the cottage as it sits up on a small hill and from the back patio has an expansive beautiful and peaceful view of a valley full of birds and trees. We especially enjoyed the rocking stairs on this patio that allowed us to enjoy the surrounding beauty and listen to the wonderful chorus of birds in the morning and wine in the evening. In our future we look forward to another stay in this pretty little cottage!"

  • Most Memorable Destination

"This is the most unique, enjoyable and memorable place my wife and I have ever stayed on vacation. It meets and exceeds what the photos and descriptions depict. When you emerge from the half-mile drive through a forest canopy, the sight of the chateau gives the feeling of arrival in a different era. That feeling is enhanced inside where guests can eat, sleep and relax in the same surroundings that have comforted others for hundreds of years, but with all the expected amenities of the modern world. We traveled by rental car during our one week stay at Chateau De La Noue and each day sought the advice of owner Christine on where to dine, shop, and visit on our excursions around Loire Valley. Her suggestions were always helpful, in particular, her tip that the Le Choiseul cave complex in Amboise was going to be open to the public for one day only, as part of France's Heritage Days. That turned out to be one of the most interesting sites we visited. Her suggestion to have lunch at Trois Marchants, near Cheverny, resulted in a most memorable meal under an umbrella on a rainy day. Christine is an excellent hostess and even walked us through how to pay our parking ticket. As another viewer suggested, please ask Christine for a tour of the portion of the chateau that is still in the process of being restored. You will get a feel for the history of the building and the amount love and effort Christine has invested in her "Grande Dame." We are recommending Chateau De La Noue to all of our friends, relatives, and anyone else that expresses any interest in visiting France. It definitely is a place we would visit again."
