  • Great Location in Amboise!

"Six of stayed in the "penthouse" apartment at Villaconcorde. Great location. Castle Amboise is directly across the street! Great view and convenience to both the castle and the rest that Amboise has to offer (which is considerable)! Living area, kitchen and downstairs bathrooms are very nice. There is only one negative: The "loft" bedroom and bathroom are attractive, but the low, slanted ceilings are a challenge for people who aren't very short. That room might be best for children about age 6 to teens. The owner was very friendly and helpful in arranging taxis for us. The wine they have available is excellent!"

  • Serene setting with an abundance of charm!

"What a fantastic time at Lebelvedere. Lovely historic home filled with beautiful antiques and works of art. My husband and I stayed three nights and wished we could have extended the visit. The cottage we stayed in was very spacious. Enjoyed late afternoons just sitting in the garden reading and drinking excellent wine from the region. Lebelvedere is in a village we found to be very welcoming. Great places to walk along the river through parks and to a winery. Located just a short block to the town square with cafes, restaurants, and shops. Enjoyed eating at the square and walking back to the home, without having to drive. Dominque and Jean are wonderful hosts recommending chateaus, museums, and restaurants. Two of our favorite memories are the aerial tour of the chateaus by Jean and the Leonardo di Vinci museum. My husband was in the Air Force and he and Jean, a former pilot, could have talked for hours about planes. Dominque is very gracious and prepared a wonderful selection of croissants, breads, cheese, beverages and homemade yogurt for breakfast. Delightful way to start each day. Would recommend it to anyone interested in a special treat!"

  • Excellent location and facilities - a fabulous cottage

"We stayed for 14 nights in August 2014. Being central in the 'magic' triangle between the Loire and the Cher, it was an ideal base for cycling around this beautiful (and mostly flat) area. The roads were quiet and there were many, well-signposted, cycle routes and tracks to follow. On our bikes, we reached: Chaumont, Blois, Amboise, Montrichard, Loches, St. Aignan and Cheverny. A combination of car and cycle worked well to visit Chambord (cycle from Blois), Tours (cycle from Lusigny) and Orleans (cycle from Meung). The cottage itself was brilliant. Roomy and full of interest, with a mixture of very old beams with modern, comfortable furniture and fittings. Having the living room and kitchen upstairs (light and warmed by the sun) with the bedroom and shower-room downstairs (darker and cooler) worked well (we didn't need to brave the extra 2 single beds in the mezzanine/loft). The double bed was large enough and comfortable with duvet and pillows. The garden, although small, was a pretty, tranquil space and the balcony was a suntrap where the two of us could eat and drink. Plenty of room for our car in the gated yard, plus space for the two bikes in the large garage. The fast Wifi was a plus, as were the washing machine and tumble drier. Pontlevoy was pretty, with its imposing Abbey / school, yet was mostly dead. The evidence is that it used to be more lively and thriving. Now a small supermarket, the Hotel d'Ecole (very smart), the Peche Mignon (informal pizza) and La Poste bar in daytime were all we saw open."
