  • Most Memorable Destination

"This is the most unique, enjoyable and memorable place my wife and I have ever stayed on vacation. It meets and exceeds what the photos and descriptions depict. When you emerge from the half-mile drive through a forest canopy, the sight of the chateau gives the feeling of arrival in a different era. That feeling is enhanced inside where guests can eat, sleep and relax in the same surroundings that have comforted others for hundreds of years, but with all the expected amenities of the modern world. We traveled by rental car during our one week stay at Chateau De La Noue and each day sought the advice of owner Christine on where to dine, shop, and visit on our excursions around Loire Valley. Her suggestions were always helpful, in particular, her tip that the Le Choiseul cave complex in Amboise was going to be open to the public for one day only, as part of France's Heritage Days. That turned out to be one of the most interesting sites we visited. Her suggestion to have lunch at Trois Marchants, near Cheverny, resulted in a most memorable meal under an umbrella on a rainy day. Christine is an excellent hostess and even walked us through how to pay our parking ticket. As another viewer suggested, please ask Christine for a tour of the portion of the chateau that is still in the process of being restored. You will get a feel for the history of the building and the amount love and effort Christine has invested in her "Grande Dame." We are recommending Chateau De La Noue to all of our friends, relatives, and anyone else that expresses any interest in visiting France. It definitely is a place we would visit again."

  • Excellent place to spend time on Loire

"The apartment is very well located, two minute stroll from the main square and the castle, and placed right in the middle of the castle country on the Loire. It has everything one needs, nicely decorated. Parking is simple and all amenities are very close by. Pascal is helpful and very professional. Greatly recommended."

  • Great apartment in a perfect location

"We really enjoyed our stay here and would highly recommend this apartment to anyone. It is very spacious, clean and quiet, with a large kitchen and separate laundry room, which is excellent for a family. The kitchen and bathrooms are modern and tastefully renovated. Sandra's very detailed information was greatly appreciated and she was very responsive and helpful. We tried a couple of restaurants recommended in her binder and both were fantastic, including the pizza place just around the corner! Amboise is very pretty and we enjoyed an evening walk up the hill behind the chateau, through beautiful neighbourhoods and back down past Clos Luce. The apartment is right in the centre of town which was very convenient, and we generally had no problem at all finding parking. Thank you, Sandra!"

  • La vie de château en France

"Less than 2 miles from Chenonceaux, hidden in a 4 acre "parc à la française", an elegant mansion with 2 wings in one of which is the very comfortable apartment for guests. There is a spacious kitchen/dining room with a silent fridge serving as a living room with its French windows leading outside. The salon has books, films and doors that open onto the private terrace. Thick walls all round make for complete silence in the bedroom and a large bathroom completes the picture. Valerie welcomes you generously with good food in the fridge, wine from the property, olive oil produced by her son in Italy, fresh flowers and a baguette (the best bread in the area). I was there for a week in February/March and the swimming pool was covered. It summer it must be paradise to relax and swim in such seclusion, at one with Nature. There is a beautiful view of the park from the house where you can enjoy the old trees forming a glorious skyline - my favourite. I will be returning soon."
