"After having a train problem we arrived late to our new home in Vendome. Our host Claudette and Daniel gave us a warm welcome and walked us into town to a local restaurant and helped convince the owners to prepare a late dinner of local fish. We sat outside and enjoyed the local ambience. The apartment and the garden were spectacular in a simple and private way. On our first morning in Vendome a basket of croissants, baguette and home made jam were on our window sill. Claudette helped with sights, directions and overall information about the area. Many thanks to Claudette and Daniel for all their hospitality."

"If you are into fast paced vacations with swinging night life and a crazy club scene.......keep looking. BUT if you want a slice of the real rural France, a relaxing and unhurried pace to your days then you have found the right place. My wife and I just returned from two unforgettable weeks in this little gem in Troo. Our vacation style is low key and self-paced. This place fit beautifully. The house itself has everything you could ask for as far as equipment, and best of all it is close to the major roads so you can get anywhere in the are in no more than an hour, and we even took a side trip to Normandy, which is a quick trip up the A28. Geraldine, your host, will go to any length to answer questions and offer helpful insights to the local areas, and best of all great wine suggestions about local producers!!! There are great dining options in Troo and within a few kilometers, but we also took advantage of the neat little kitchen to cook some of the local products of this mainly agricultural area. Nearby Montoire-sur-Loir has two large markets for your staples. We limited ourselves to two chateaux/museums per day to avoid burnout, with lazy lunches near our destinations and we never tired of the drive along the rural roads as they offer endless opportunities for photographers. But be warned: If you stop to take a few shots of each and every picturesque village or landscape you encounter you will never arrive at your intended destination. But that is part of the magic of this area. I would heartily reccommend this property to anyone looking for a self-paced out of the tourist rush vacation, and we will cherish every memory of the little house on the banks of the Loir. Don't wait....BOOK IT!!!!"
