  • family break

"Thank you John for sharing your home with us during a delightfully peaceful get away from it all break. Steeped in history this was a perfect home from home set on the river bank a short walk from the village centre. Don't expect to rush anywhere just sit back relax and enjoy watching the world go by."

  • Perfect place for 2 adults

"This studio and location was convenient, quiet neighborhood, absolutely safe & clean. We stayed at this studio for 5 days it has a modern kitchen that has everything you need. And the futon couch was comfortable. Antoine was wonderful, spoke good english, waited for us with the keys, answered our questions, explained everything we needed to know! Studio is in a nice location, we felt save walking the streets at night. The Eiffel Tower is a 15-20 minute walk away, right across the street is the Seine River, where you can take a tour cruise ride. We mainly used the train station as our main transportation which you could get to a walking distance. The train literally stops near a lot of the tourist locations. Right around the corner of the studio you have a bakery very good choices for breakfast and a walking distance many good restaurants to choose from. My husband and I loved Paris, some day we hope to return. The best tip my husband and I could give is make the effort to learn some basic words in French, the people love it that you are trying to communicate with them. Thank you Antoine for everything we had a wonderful, beautiful time."

  • Great vacation in Ile Saint Louis!

"Paris Vacation I just wanted to let you know we had a great time in Paris and found your home to be just what we were looking for. This is an apt with all the comforts we are used too, as well as having the old world charm of a building built in that century. The location was fantastic and having the large windows to open up above the river was special. The cafes and transportation in the area were very good. We will stay here again on our next visit to Paris."

  • Perfect Paris Getaway!!

"We are a family of four with kids aged 7 and 10 and were in Paris for 4 nights. We chose Henri's apartment based on its location, size, clean/newer look and price. We could not have chosen a better place. Henri's apartment was even better and more spacious than we expected. Location - This is in the heart of the city. The metro is only a block away but 50% of what you want to see in Paris is no more than a 15 or 20 minute walk. There are a handful of great restaurants in the neighborhood, multiple bakeries and coffee shops around(plus there's a Starbucks a block away), and a large grocery store 2 blocks away. Perfect location. Building - It's in a very nice building on a nice street(it does get a little loud in the middle of the night b/c the street is a cut through for people coming home from the restaurants/bars). It has an elevator that is very convenient for hauling gear and avoiding the stairs given that the apartment is on the top floor. Apartment - My impression was that it was very clean....all white walls, minimal clutter, contemporary furniture and very light. It has a large bedroom on the left as you walk in, a bathroom on the right, and it then opens into a large living space that has a wall of windows to let in the light and fresh air. Off to the right of the family room is a hall that takes you to a small bath, a second bedroom and the kitchen, which is new and has all the amenities(including a washer/dryer - which I have to say was KEY - we did a load of laundry daily). It's a little tight on space, but that didn't matter. They have every utensil, dish, bowl, pan, etc. that you would ever need. The bedrooms both had tons of closet space. Comfort - The beds and the pillows were super comfortable - I'm very particular about both. The kids slept on twin beds in their room and said they were great. The living room had a comfortable couch and two chairs that were pretty good. The dining chairs also worked well, and with my mom and her friend also being in town provided enough seating for us all. We immediately felt at home here. Owners - The communication with, Henri, was fast, efficient and friendly. The process to rent it was painless and Henri provided plenty of useful info. We had accidentally left a load of laundry in the washer and emailed Henri the next day about it. We thought for sure that we would never see them again, but sure enough he mailed them right out. Bottom Line = This is an absolute must rent unit!!"

French Riviera (Cote d'Azur) Travel Tips

The French Riviera is the Perfect Vacation Destination

The French Riviera, also known as the Côte d'Azur, has all the glitz and glamor you could ever hope for. It is rivaled by few places on earth which makes it one of the truly magical and inviting vacation destinations of all time. Situated on the French coast of the Mediterranean Sea, the Alps protect the area from the harsh inland winds while the sultry Mediterranean’s warm gentle breezes draw you in. This dreamland makes French Riviera villas the perfect escape from the daily grind of your real life. Once you stay here, you will never want to go home!

When to Book French Riviera Accommodations

The summer months on the French Riviera, particularly July and August, can be stifling hot but crowded as well. If you want to avoid throngs of tourists and other vacationers, the summer is not the best time to go. Furthermore, you will find that prices are higher during this peak season as well. June and September are the ideal months to plan on booking French Riviera vacation rentals simply because the weather is gorgeous and the prices are right. It is important to know the vacation habits of the locals before you plan your trip as well. From mid-July throughout August, almost all of France is on vacation, so that may pack the roads, rentals, and beaches. You will also want to watch out for May with all of its church holidays as many main attractions are closed.

French Riviera Helpful Travel Tips

As you plan your trip to the French Riviera, knowing how to get in and around is a key element of having a successful vacation. If you plan to fly in, the Nice Côte d'Azur Airport is probably your best bet as it sits between Antibes and Nice. There are frequent flights between major cities across the globe and Paris which is then only an hour flight to Nice. The train is also a possibility as Nice is a major crossroads for trains arriving from Paris, northern French cities, and Italy. The Côte d'Azur line is also pleasing to tourists as it affords many great sights along the way. Taking the bus or having a rental car allows you to penetrate deeper into the smaller villages and backcountry spots throughout the region. If you plan on visiting the lesser traveled paths, these may be your best bet. You will be able to get a bus schedule easily from any travel agent or from the bus depot itself. Be sure to rent your car from one of the main rail stops.

Talking the Talk

Because much of the region makes its living through some form of tourism or another, many people will have no problem speaking English, especially in the most popular tourist areas. You may also find that many of the waiters and managers speak English natively or fluently but it would not hurt to try your best at French. Service is always better when you try the native language.

Staying Safe

Staying safe on vacation is always a main concern and the French Riviera is no different. Though Monaco lodging is very safe, the rest of the region has a reputation that challenges personal safety. Petty crimes such as pickpocketing, car theft, and burglary are all too common. Just do your best to avoid being a victim by staying aware of your surroundings, locking the door to your French Riviera accommodations, and not flaunting your valuables.

Things to do and See

The French Riviera is famous for St. Tropez, Monaco and the Cannes Film Festival. But there are plenty of lesser known attractions for you to enjoy. Have you thought about visiting the perfumeries of Grasse, the glass-blowers of Biot, or the perched quaint villages of Eze and Gourdon? Stepping into these areas will make you feel as though you have stepped into a living Picasso painting. Filled with mountain scenery, beach views, and everything in between, the French Riviera allows for a chic, energetic, and unforgettable vacation every time you visit.
