  • Very good address in the 18th

"Very professional communications; friendly agent who met us and gave prompt replies to questions that came up during our stay. The apartment was as represented on line. We'd definitely stay there again (we were there for 3 weeks.)"

  • Large Space

"We were pleased with the spaciousness of this apartment and how quiet it was. You enter the building from a busy street, but proceed to the center courtyard which the apartment faces. Hot water was readily available, but the shower grout was full of mold. Some of the kitchen lights and coffee maker did not work. The neighborhood appears a bit run down and seedy, but the apartment has ready access to the Metro, grocery, etc. If you are a walker, you can walk to the central sites."

  • Perfect Parisian Experience!

"This delightful apartment was a highlight of our Parisian adventure! My teenage daughter and myself revelled in the cosy comfort that awaited us after each day of sightseeing. Being able to cook our own meals, after wandering through the fabulous nearby markets, choosing from the best of fresh produce, was a particular delight. The location was a true bonus, being situated literally a couple of minutes walk between two Metro stations on different lines, which made it so easy to plan our outings. Having laundry facilities was also a real benefit, saving us time at the laundrette, (it's also so much cheaper!). But it was the 'home like' quality that really delighted us - lovely plates and dishes, a wonderful CD selection, books, etc - all made our stay so much more relaxed than a hotel, or a normal rental place. We couldn't recommend this highly enough, and will definitely be back!"

  • Charming apartment in the heart of the Marais

"My husband and I greatly enjoyed the week we recently spent in the apartment on Rue Au Maire. For my first visit to Paris, this was an ideal location. The local agent provided a thorough orientation to the apartment, which was very helpful. Once we got to know the neighborhood during our daily walks and explorations, we were fascinated by the array of shops and restaurants tucked into the narrow street. Local children were out each evening, playing keep away and tag. It was a short walk to the Pompidou Center, the Picasso Museum, the Place de Vosges and a host of other sites. The apartment is quiet, comfortable and cheerfully decorated, with an abundance of information and guides to help orient visitors to the wonders of Paris. The kitchen is well equipped, lacking only a dishwasher, but that was not a problem for us at all. It was convenient to be able to use the washing machine, drying the clothes on the rack. The WC is separate from the large shower and small bathroom sink, a bit different than the usual American arrangement. The bedroom is small, but adequate with a comfortable bed and adequate lighting for reading. Our only real concern was the challenge of walking on the wood floors without making a lot of noise. The floors do squeak! It became a game to be able to find the quietest path from living room to bedroom so as not to disturb the downstairs neighbors. Since we were out exploring most of the time, learning to use the amazing Metro system, and enjoying the warm Spring weather, we hope it was not a problem."

Barbizon Travel Tips

See the French Countryside with Barbizon Vacation Rentals

Barbizon is a quaint little town with distinct country charm. When looking for Il-de-France apartments or homes, look in the little town of Barbizon. You can find houses for your entire family if you are on a family vacation. The little town is also very family friendly with its quiet streets, quaint shops, and surrounding woods and parks. The Barbizon school of painters, which included many of France’s greats, got its name from the beautiful village.

Central Location

Barbizon is happily situated near the great city of Paris, and near several other towns of interest. Fontainebleau, where the famous and impressive hunting lodge of Louis XIV is located, is only about 10–15 minutes away from Barbizon. Also nearby is the famed Le Veau le Viconte, the large and ornate palace that Versailles was patterned after. Visiting many sites of interest in France is possible from your vacation home in Barbizon. Paris, the most well-known city in France, offers the full range of French culture, from the modern to the medieval. However, Paris is not the only part of France that is worthy of being visited. In Barbizon, you will be close enough to visit Paris, and yet able to see and experience the countryside as well.

Expand Your Vacation

While you may be planning on visiting France to see the sites and experience the culture, don’t forget about the other enjoyable activities that are available. Barbizon travel will not only offer you a great location for seeing the sights of France, but it will also offer relaxing and enjoyable activities such as hiking through the beautiful Fontainebleau Forest, horseback riding, tennis, and browsing the many fresh farmers markets. Your vacation home, equipped with all the amenities you will need for your vacation, will be the perfect place to experience these things.
