  • A month in France

"I'm not sure where to start... I rented the Moulin de la Planche for the month of June this year. It was an absolute dream. The pictures, while great, do not come close to expressing the sheer beauty and scale of the Mill. As each of my friends arrived, one by one jaws dropped and they were transported into a French movie - far away from day to day lives and the bustle of getting through Paris traffic. The location near Septeuil was perfect. A walking path leads to the town and after a short fifteen minute walk we were at the local boulangerie-patisserie each morning to pick up fresh croissants and traditional baguettes. Septeuil is not a tourist destination, and we loved the opportunity to meet the local shopkeepers and feel like a part of the community for a month. The location is also only a fifteen to twenty minute drive to Mantes La Jolie where we jumped on the fast train (33 min) to Paris. We spent many days in Paris, returning in the afternoon to pick up fresh produce for dinner. Though, even with Paris so close - it was at times difficult to leave the Mill and it's serene beauty. It was always a challenge trying to decide where to set up for lunch and dinner: at the wonderful long teak dining table, the outside patio, alongside the river or so many other incredible places with views of the Mill or water. The Moulin de la Planche really does transport you away and into another world, I can't recommend it highly enough, or thank the owner enough for her incredible hospitality and warmth. Amazing, amazing, amazing!"

  • A wonderful home in the heart of the city

"Our family of five stayed here and had a fantastic experience. This is a very special place. The owner, Michele Colnat, was very easy to work from the very beginning and extremely welcoming upon our arrival. It is described accurately, it felt like a luxury hotel with the privacy of our own home. We really enjoyed being able to walk out the front door and have easy access to museums, shopping, restaurants, etc. We all agree that we would love to return to Rue de Bac someday. It made our first visit to Paris a real success!"

  • Two sisters in Paris

"This lovely apartment had everything we needed, including a selection of vases for the beautiful flowers we picked up at the markets. Loved the Richard Lenoir market nearby, thanks Eileen for that suggestion. The location is perfect for walking, metro, bus, taxi, bikes. All the neighbourhood food shops right outside the door made it easy to pick up baquette, wine, pate and cheese for a predinner nibble. We tried several of the bistrots Eileen recommended also, the meals and service were excellent. Hopefully we'll be back to enjoy Eileen's gem again in the not too distant future."

  • A Winner

"We stayed for 5 nights in August and had a terrific time. Echoing what others have said – the location is terrific, with a number of metro stops in close walking distance, easy food shopping (Bon Marche, a must, is just a few minutes walk away) and lots of restaurants. One other hidden bonus – it’s a 13 minute walk to Gare Montparnasse, which has express trains to Versailles, less than 15 minutes (then a 15-20 minute walk from the station to the palace itself). It’s also an easy 3 metro stop ride from the Catacombs at Denfert-Rochereau, which was one of the highlights of our trip (get there early, the line forms at 8am and by the time it opened at 10am there were probably 500 people on line, a 3-hour wait to get in). I highly recommend the Regis apartment."
