  • Return to the Marais

"How wonderful to have had the opportunity to stay in the Camus for the second time in a year. I had pleasure of staying in the apartment Sept 2013 with friends, (Boston Girls). We all fell in love with the location and the apartment, I knew I was coming back the question was when. I had a milestone birthday coming up in August 2014 and thought what a better way to celebrate than to bring my family to Paris. There were three generations and we ranged from 14 to 82, the apartment is the perfect place to call home when in Paris. It is large enough so that everyone has space but yet lends itself to being together in the dining/living area. The cheese shop next door to ST Paul’s is the best in Paris. Wine and pastry shops are also very close by, it doesn’t get any better than the Marais. After a day of touring it was wonderful to return home to our apartment. Working with Our Home in Paris staff is an experience in itself; talk about meeting your expectations, they go beyond. Everyone is helpful from the time of initial booking until you return home. High marks of course go to Marc, who for the second year was the point person; it was like seeing an old friend when I returned. Marc also arranged for our driver Ivan, who took such good care of my sister who is 82 and uses a walker, Ivan picked us up and returned us to the airport and didn’t leave until he was sure we were settled. Certainly not expected but it made all the difference the day we departed, the airport was mobbed and I can’t imagine how we would have navigated without him. A gem for sure. The perfect apartment and location for just about anyone who wants to visit Paris. Jim, Karl, Marc and Ivan, thank you for your part in my celebration."

  • Quiet, comfortable and well located

"This was our 4th trip to Paris and we were seeking a place for 2 couples and 1 single to stay for 8 nights. The townhouse was perfect! Hosts Sylvie and Camille were extremely helpful and friendly. The property was clean, well appointed and extremely comfortable. Located in Montparnasse Metro Line 4 was across the road and the bus stop, travelling through San Michelle and on to the Opera was very convenient. An 'eat street" with a delightful range of restaurants was only a 2 block walk and a supermarket was located almost across the road. For a property in Paris it was comparatively spacious, the beds comfortable and the bathrooms clean and lovely. I would recommend Sylvie's townhouse to anyone and look forward to booking it again on our next visit to Paris."

  • Perfection in Paris

"Hi J, Just a quick email to say thanks again for renting us your apartment on Des Cartes - it was amazing! Perfect size for the two of us, with everything we could have wanted including a fan for the hotter nights. Very cute neighbourhood and near a wide range of restaurants and markets and a few stations nearby. If anyone is conscious about security, no need to be here, there is a coded door, 3 flights of stairs and then the door to the apartment itself has 3 locks. I'll put it this way, if someone can break in, they almost deserve your stuff haha. Seriously though, very safe, I was comfortable walking home late at night on my own etc. :) As J mentions in the description, there are stairs, I had a huge 25kg suitcase. I struggled up (jetlagged and hot), but as my partner said, its only once up and once down when we leave :) Otherwise I quite liked the stairs (not many) and felt I needed them after all of the pastries that I ate! All in all I couldn't fault it, wifi worked properly, there was a washing machine etc. A+++ :) If I venture back to Paris this will certainly be my first pick. Cheers, M :)"

  • Comfortable apartment.

"First I would like to say that Charlotte was very pleasant to work with and helpful when arranging the booking. The apartment was nice and comfortable as described. It had all the necessary amenities and was just 5 minutes walk to the metro station and about a 30 minute train ride from the central Paris attractions/landmarks. We didn't have any problems with the apartment. Having said that, our check-in and check-out experiences were not very good. Charlotte was out of the country so we met her friend Valerie who takes care of the apartment when Charlotte is out. Valerie was also very nice, but she doesn't speak any language other than French, AT ALL. She was supposed to be the person who provided information and instructions on how to use everything in the apartment. She also had no idea that we had paid the rent in full prior to arrival, and was expecting us to give her the rent payment. I had to show her some emails confirming the payments were already made, but she said Charlotte did not communicate this to her. On top of that we forgot our checkbook so we couldn't write a check for the security deposit. This was our fault, but Valerie still had no idea what to do. All of this was very difficult to discuss because we couldn't communicate. We tried to call Charlotte several times but we could not reach her. I downloaded a French translation app on my mobile, but it wasn't helpful enough. Valerie had to call her son, who speaks English, to help translate. The process took almost an hour. There was also no check-in walkthrough, so there was no documentation of anything that wasn't working (although pretty much everything was). When Valerie came back to check the apartment before check-out, I told her we found the shower-head holder broken when we arrived, but she seemed to think we broke it. We tried to call Charlotte at check-in, check-out, and throughout our stay but we were never able to reach her. We sent her an email when we arrived at her apartment but she never responded."
