  • Excellent - -felt like being at home

"Excellent location very close to everything but as behind bank is quiet. The bakeries and restaurants near by excellent. Love jogging in the morning around the Louvre. Stayed with my wife and three teen daughters and plenty of room and character in this French styled apartment. Will definitely stay again"

  • The soundest sleep you can have in Paris!

"What a delightful, spacious, charming apartment - we fell in love immediately. I particularly loved the timber beams in the ceiling and the curving lines of the staircase. It is very conveniently located between the Seine and the Blvd St Germain, right near a metro and almost opposite Notre Dame, and yet we slept like babies in the quiet bedroom with its very comfortable king mattress and its courtyard view. We felt very safe (key code entry and then two sets of keys to get into the apartment itself), and my husband's knees certainly appreciated the elevator to the 4th floor while my daughter and I raced up and down each day to see if we could beat him. Each morning we bought our croissants and pain au chocolats at the delicious patisserie on the corner, and we shopped at the street market that appeared 3 times a week (Tues, Thurs and Sat) and the convenient supermarkets. We valued the well-stocked compact kitchen for the chance to even eat in for dinner from time to time. Thank you to the delightful woman (shall not be named, per VRBO protocol) who greeted us on arrival and made us comfortable, with clear instructions and handled our occasional calls graciously and promptly -- we couldn't get the key to work in the door to exit (jet lag!!) and had to call, only to discover we were trying to exit the wrong door! She was very patient with us :) The washer-dryer were invaluable and we also appreciated the dishwasher. And the kindness of providing toilet paper, paper towel, laundry soap and cleaning supplies (I even did a small amount of housework as we were there for 13 nights!) My only recommendation to add to the wonderfully detailed instructions would be a clear list of what can and can't be recycled. I am an avid recycler (hate the thought of all those landfills with everlasting plastic bags) and it was never clear to me what I could put in which trash bin ... or even what to do with the glass wine bottles. We thank you for a terrific vacation and would stay at Notre Dame Bievre again in a heartbeat, if we get that lucky again!"

  • We love this apartment, it feels like home.

"We have become so comfortable with Jennifer's St Mande apartment that we refer to it as the apartment. I think it is our fifth stay. Such a comfort to return to our favorite city knowing that we can settle in and pick up where we left off last visit . The apartment is easy to access, on the prime subway line for tourist areas, has a bus at the door making for ease of travel in Paris . The neighborhood and the neighbouring Vincennes have all you could possibly need. Local restaurants are great, with Le Ruisseau, just around the corner, our favorite. "Le notre"is a block away if you are looking for a cooking school. We consider this apt. " a find". The apartment itself is modest, always freshly cleaned, perfectly adequate for a month long stay."

  • Luxurious and Charming!

"Our family of four (2 adults with 2 kids, ages 14 & 11) were very happy in this lovely apartment for a week between Christmas and New Years. It's in a wonderful neighborhood with shops and restaurants - many were closed that holiday week but it just made us think about coming back. The Port Royal RER is only a few blocks away with access to all parts of the city but the neighborhood is also within walking distance to some great areas. The apartment itself is on the top floor a beautiful, secure building that made us feel like locals - the rooftop views were gorgeous from every window. We especially liked the Val de Grace Church at night and hearing the bells ring during the day. We also really enjoyed the spectacular Eiffel Tower light show at midnight on New Years Eve! There is so much more to this apartment than the photos can depict - it is architecturally stunning but the beautifully curated collection of art, books and furnishings is really what makes it feel special. The living rooms are very spacious and the kitchen is modern and well equipped. The beds were comfortable, especially the master! Having 3 baths (2 with toilets) was a treat, especially for a family. Upon arriving, Paul and Sylvie gave us a tour of their home and local restaurant and shop recommendations. They turned us on to a wonderful bakery on the way to the RER which we stopped at EVERY day! They are lovely people who care about their home and your experience in it. We would stay again in this, or any of their properties. Thank you Paul & Sylvie for your hospitality and giving our family a true Parisienne experience!"
