  • Charming apartment in unbeatable location

"I stayed here with my daughter for a week, and it was a perfect fit for us. She used the living area couch as her sleeping spot, and was very comfortable. There are two well-lit bathrooms, one with toilet and both with sink and shower, which were immaculate. Great water pressure, very comfortable mattresses. Ample extra sheets, down comforters, towels, all in perfect condition. The pictures don't really give you a feel for the more charming aspects of the rooms, as they have left intact the old wooden beams in both rooms, and wood floors which are beautifully polished. We had a glitch with internet and TV service being down, and Shelly's contacts in Paris went above and beyond to accommodate our needs and have it taken care of promptly, even leaving us some delicious food in our fridge for our troubles. Blissfully quiet, only one set of steps, and a location which caters to every need."

  • Great Value

"This was our first visit to Paris. 10 days to celebrate our 35th wedding anniversary. We wanted an apartment that was safe, clean, quiet and affordable. Given we had a limited budget, we were concerned that by spending less than the going rate on comparable units elsewhere in the city, we would sacrifice on one of the other three criteria. We were very pleased that by the end of our stay, we could honestly say that we didn't have to compromise on what was important to us. First, it is very conveniently located from a transportation standpoint. It is surrounded by 3 train/subway stations that are 1-3 blocks all very walkable. In fact, it is very easy to just take the RER(train) from the airport, transfer once, and it is only a 3 block walk from the fabulous Gare De Lyon station. No car or cab fare necessary...ever....if you are staying in the city. Even when we traveled to Versailles, it was all so easy by train/subway. The apartment itself is very clean. Small by US standards, but good for a Parisian flat, and larger than a hotel room, even if you spent 30% more. Kitchen gives you everything you need and the washer/dryer came in very handy for a 10 day stay. I personally think it would be too small to have 3-4 people, but it all depends on what your expectations are. Neighbors are quiet. On the second floor. Small elevator, but we usually just used the stairway since it was quicker. The neighborhood faces out on the canal, and this scenic pathway, lined with boats, allows you to enjoy a pleasurable stroll down to the Bastile area. In fact, a quick walk over the canal bridge brings you into the 4th arrondisement, which puts you into all of the sites and experienes one expects from Paris. There are many bakeries and numerous classic French bistros (cafes) in the surrounding area. A good sized grocery store is only 1.5 blocks distance. I would be remiss if I didn't mention the owner, Manuel. He is affable and extremely helpful. He gave us a complete orientation on the apartment, and made himself available for questions, especially in the first two days when you're just getting your bearings. He treated us well. What are the downsides of the apartment? There are windows, but no real view. If you want to be able to sit in your apartment and stare out on a lovely view of Paris, go somewhere else, but you will pay $$$ for it. We would rather visit the sites and spend the evening in the apartment."

  • An excellent apartment in a perfect location

"An excellent apartment in a perfect location to enjoy Paris. We stayed 10 days and found the apartment to be clean, well equipped, nicely decorated, very spacious, comfortable and quiet. We were on a long trip so it was a great respite from hotels and a chance to enjoy some home cooking using the ingredients purchased from the high quality food shops in Rue de Bretagne. We particularly appreciated the welcome and assistance from the rental agent which we had not had in previous Paris rentals. It was easy to walk to many attractions such as the Picasso Musee, Musee Carnivale, Pompidou Centre, Place de la Republic and metro stations were close by. Picardie was a lovely calm base from which to explore the vibrant 3rd and 4th arrondissements. We highly recommend the apartment and would return without hesitation."

  • Perfect apartment...especially for first time travellers to Paris

"Let me start by saying that Lynn is a very gracious hostess and provides lots of helpful information. As others have said, the location couldn't be better. The ease of getting from the airport to the flat made our arrival stress-free. We loved the fact that the neighborhood was vibrant and felt very safe. The apartment easily held our family of 4, and could have accommodated 6 without a problem. The beams are a bit low and took some getting used to, but we loved the artsy feel of the flat. It was very easy to walk to many of the museums from the flat. Lynn provides everything you need...lots of towels, a washer and dryer (with instructions), and even a couple of bathrobes. When I came down with a bad cold on Christmas morning, she responded quickly to my email with a link to several pharmacies that were open 24/7. I definitely recommend this rental and would stay here again. Thanks, Lynn, for sharing your lovely apartment!"
