  • Perfect apartment in Bastille area

"This apartment was a perfect choice for my sister and I. Jean Charles was an excellent host, meeting us early at the apartment as we were flying in from the U.S. Jean Charles explained everything in the apartment with us as well as the area we were staying in. The beds were very comfortable and the kitchen was a huge plus. There are several forms of public transportation nearby as well as taxi stands, cafes, restaurants and a few grocery stores. Overall we had an excellent stay and I would highly recommend rhis property."

  • Location can't be beat

"This was a great little apartment - tiny like city center apartments will be, but most everything you could want. The layout worked - toilet near the door as you come in. Nice main room (where we hung out) with one of the double beds, the table and chairs, and a little kitchen alcove. That leads to another small room with a double bed and night table that takes up all of the room, then a hall closet, followed by a bathroom with sink and tub/shower. Restaurants galore just outside the building's door. Just a couple of blocks from Saint Michel on one side and Notre Dame in the other direction. Shakespeare and Company a block and a half away. I was actually pleasantly surprised that the apartment was very quiet even while in the midst of everything (no outside windows, just nice big windows onto the interior courtyard). The two double beds were very comfortable with nice linens. (I wouldn't put even a kid on the futon for more than a night because of the size and quality of it, but we slept three between the beds very comfortably). The owners provided good information ahead of time - I suggest paying close attention to it! The instructions for getting in are detailed and correct, but challenging with a jet-lagged brain. Be aware that there is a zigzag hallway to get to the apartment door, but it took us a day to realize that there are push buttons in the hallway that turn on lighting that whole way. Be prepared to buy toilet paper, soap, etc. I didn't meet, or really communicate more than an email back and forth, with the owners, but everything was very well set up. The couple managing the property for them were prompt with answers to a question we had. I'd definitely stay here again!"

  • Ideal location: Experience Paris and feel at home

"Three week stay in this great apartment in Montparnasse. Metro just outside building doorway. Train station in easy walking distance. Apartment was very roomy by European standards and ample space for my husband and I to feel very comfortable. Pictures do not do justice to space and light available. Large tub with great water pressure; separate WC; very comfortable double bed with lots of closet/drawer space; kitchen is stocked for EVERY cooking need except regular oven. Sofa is very comfortable; as described, flat screen TV and working iMAC computer. The washer was great but dryer was challenging (trick is to put clothes on extra spin dry and then use more time than "typical" to fully dry clothing) We hung lots of items and worked fine once I figured it out. The apartment is secured behind coded front door and then again by key access to apartments and elevator; we used stairs often but appreciated elevator immensely at end of long day of touring or after shopping. If you are there for a while, you will discover endless treasures such as Eric Kayser Boulanger/Patissier for best bread we found in 3 weeks, Monoprix for shopping, streetside Henri's Creperie which is a delight and an institution, shopping mall across the street, etc, etc., etc. If you are coming from the USA, the food and restaurant prices will create distinct "sticker shock" so be prepared :-) Our host Bernard Testu was very responsive from the time we started planning our trip 18+ plus ago until even after we returned to the USA. Our only glitch was an issue with the Wi-Fi which was not his fault and for which he pursued a resolution as best he could. In the end, we had access to free Wi-Fi and computer and BBC TV (we watched little TV). To be honest, upon arrival, I did do a good bit of cleaning (toilet, tub, sinks) to bring up to my standards but cleaning supplies were available -- an initial disappointment (I know I am not the first to mention) but do not let it keep you from taking this lease. . The view from apartment is limited but charming: rooftops and sky; our only concern in the morning was construction noise and yapping dog on ground floor in building to right but good windows did close that out pretty well. Apartment is not air-conditioned so a fan or two would be very helpful for warm days. We were blessed with terrific weather in September and so it did get warm in the apartment in the evening. Would stay again absolutely. Contact us for more info :-)"

  • FABULOUS APARTMENT

"My wife and I stayed in Eric's apartment for 11 nights in March. Let me begin by saying that the apartment is absolutely tremendous in every way. The location is excellent. As you step out the door the Seine River is across the street, and Notre Dame is 500m to the left down the street. On arrival in Paris we took a taxi to the apartment where we were met by Angelina, Eric's wonderful assistant. The taxi ride took about 45 minutes in rush hour and cost a little over 50 Euros. Angelina met us at the door and toured us through the apartment. Eric stopped by later in the evening to meet us also. Both Eric and Angelina are wonderful, friendly and very courteous people. It was great to meet them. Fabulous hosts. The apartment had everything we needed. It was extremely clean, comfortable and well decorated with very nice furniture and accessories. The bed was extremely comfortable. The kitchen had everything you would need. Although we ate out most days, we did bring take out food home occasionally to heat up in the microwave. The bathroom was very modern and clean. The rain shower was excellent with lots of hot water and excellent water pressure. The apartment was everything we hoped for and more. I have recommended it to all of my friends and we will stay there every time we visit Paris. It is very deserving of 5 stars. My wife and I love to walk so we walked everywhere everday. The Louvre is 20 minutes walk. Notre Dame 5 minute walk. St. Germaine Street is one block away. It is an amazing street with many restaurants, Patisseries, and shops. The Bastille is a 15 minute walk. We also walked to the Paris Opera House and the Eiffel Tower (40 minute walk). We really enjoyed the D'orsay Museum as well as the Musee Orangerie. We also attended the Opera at the Bastille Opera House (Faust). What a great experience. The Bastille Opera House is a 15 minute to walk from the apartment. We also attended the France vs. Brazil football friendly at the 80000 seat Stade de France. It was an easy 10 minute Metro ride to the stadium. Taking the Metro in Paris is very very easy. The closest Metro station 10 minute walk from the apartment. We rode the Metro several times to various locations around Paris. My wife also took an outstanding cooking/baking class with 'Cooking With Class'. She had a fabulous time and highly recommended the class. Paris is beautiful and amazing. We had a wonderful 10 days. Eric's apartment is absolutely fabulous."
