  • A calm, clean, sunny apartment in a bustling, fun Parisian neighborhood

"The apartment is in a quiet, well-maintained elevator building. It's nicely laid out, with a separate kitchen, and it's extremely clean. Its large windows--in both the living/dining room and kitchen--overlook the rooftops of the neighborhood and make the apartment (which is well proportioned to begin with) feel even more spacious. Conveniences include a cooktop, oven, microwave, Wi-Fi, and washer-dryer, plus a shower with better water pressure than the one we have at home. In the immediate vicinity of the apartment, there are a number of good restaurants, including several (e.g., Septime, Le 6 Paul Bert, and the Bistrot Paul Bert) that the New York Times has recently talked up. If you want to do your own cooking, as we did, you can shop for bread and pastries, cheese, produce, and meat, all within a half-block radius. The subway is just around the corner and the #76 bus (which goes through the Marais to the Louvre) just across the avenue; you can be virtually anywhere you want in central Paris within 20 minutes. A branch of Monoprix, the French superstore that's like an upscale Target (groceries, clothing, beauty products, books, etc.), is a ten-minute walk away. We would stay here again in a flash."

  • retired U.S. couple

"This charming apartment is located in the eastern part of the 12th arrondissemont, which contains no major tourist attractions, but is a lively, typically Parisian neighborhood. (And a short walk to the Marais.) There are a number of excellent restaurants nearby as well as the highly-rated Aligre market and one of the best boulangeries just across the street (yum!) There are also several excellent supermarkets within a short walking distance for those who wish to take advantage of the well-equipped kitchen in the apartment, or just stock up on breakfast items or snacks. The apartment itself is spacious and comfortably furnished with plenty of storage space. Some reviewers have commented on the firmness of the bed(s) in the second bedroom but our guests found them comfortable. Another positive aspect of the apartment is that it is very quiet, considering it is in the heart of a busy city. The hosts were friendly and helpful, eager to provide information on transportation, restaurants, etc. And any questions or minor problems were addressed immediately. In addition to the available wi-fi, there is a telephone which can even be used for international calls (within certain limits.) We have been to Paris a number of times and when we come back again we would love to return to this apartment!"

  • Penthouse Voltaire

"The four of us had a delightful time at Penthouse Voltaire. Kristian was waiting for us upon our arrival and kindly showed us all features of the apartment. My friends were thrilled with the beauty of the place, the spaciousness, and the view. We couldn't have chosen a better base for our Paris visit."

  • great location and comfortable apartment

"My daughter and I spent a week in this apartment and thoroughly enjoyed it!! Metro was minutes away and we traveled to numerous sites throughout Paris. Olivier the manager met us within 10 minutes of our arrival, explained the apartment uses, was responsive to an issue with the bathroom and great to work with. The apartment looked exactly as pictured and was comfortable for 2 people and we made ample use of the kitchen. Street was lively at night and we enjoyed listening to the music from the clubs. A/C was extremely useful since the temperature climbed into the 80's during our visit. Overall I would recommend this to Apartment to anyone."
