  • Elegant spacious apartment - St. Germain- Wonderful outlook!

"We really enjoyed the apartment with lots of windows looking at a beautiful Gothic Basilica. The furnishings were comfortable, well equipped kitchen, good sized bathroom with walk-in shower (we always have trouble working out the water temp-in Europe). Don't be put off by the entrance---it is typical of all old European structures---the apartment is a delight and Sophie & Phillipe were always comfortingly available if needed. The location is wonderful, lovely grocery store, excellent bakeries and wine stores steps away. Quiet street--we will definitely go back and highly recommend the accommodation."

  • Urban Magic

"The Canal Saint Martin Loft is a piece of Parisian magic. In Paris's trendiest neighborhood, filled with adventuresome restaurants and shops, close to the incredibly energetic recently redone Place de la Republique, which is superbly connected to metro lines, this space--filled with books and with pleasing objects and art from around the world, a unique combination of chic and hip--is a pleasure to return to or simply to be in. What makes the loft unique in my lifetime of Parisian apartments is that it is beautiful, on an exciting street, and yet is quiet. Kitchen is superbly equipped, beds are comfortable, light is plentiful, near one of the great open air markets of Paris, air conditioning is very appreciated in summer."

  • Serenity in the center of Paris

"Three of us stayed for nearly 1 week in this charming, calm, well-appointed (in a shabby-chic kind of way), and very centrally located flat one block from Beaubourg/Centre Pompidou and 2-3 blocks from Chatelet/Les Halles (convenient for metros and the RER (to and from Roissy/Charles de Gaulle airport)). It’s also easy to walk to Ile St. Louis, Ile de la Cite, the Left Bank, and the Louvre. There are a couple of really cute restaurants on the same block as the flat. And a boulangerie at the corner for your daily baguette or croissants. It is just one flight of stairs up from street level and very secure. From the outset, the communications with the agents/owners, and the handling of the lease and payment process were smooth, open, and easy-to-follow. The agents/owners were attentive to our questions and concerns. And they were full of helpful information and clear instructions. Their agent e-mailed me about a week in advance. We arranged to meet on the day I arrived in Paris at an appointed hour. My flight arrived late, so I just e-mailed and phoned the agent to let her know I was running late, and she was very flexible. On arrival at the flat, she showed me everything, where to find things (including the ironing board and even the supermarket (just around the corner!)), how things in the flat work (like the washing machine), etc. And she made herself available in case I had any questions. There’s also a binder in the flat and notes posted here and there that instruct you on the use of things. While the flat suffers from a scarcity of natural light on the main floor, it has a calm, peaceful, serene feel. The ceiling joists are amazing as is the exposed stone wall. It gives the place such an antique feel, like you are living in another century. There are all the conveniences you could need (even a blow dryer in one of the bathrooms). And the place is tastefully and comfortably furnished. It has a shabby chic aspect, but that just enhances its charm. The one thing I wasn’t expecting was the “whoosh/boom” noise on occasion from the heating system. That can take you by surprise. It usually was gentle, but on occasion it was pretty noisy. At nights, on the weekends, it can get a bit noisy in the two front bedrooms (the back bedroom is fine). So bring your ear plugs – that’s life in the big city! Overall, I would highly recommend this flat! And I hope to be able to stay there again in a future visit to Paris! -- Scott S."
