Repeat visitors -- love the tapestry and the apartment
"My husband and I returned a few weeks ago from our 7th stay (in the last eight years) in Fabrice's wonderful apartment: we have stayed in four other apartments in Paris (twice in larger places with other people, once elsewhere when this was booked, and once in his other apartment) but keep returning to Fidelio because we love it. Yes, the mattress is very firm but we bring a flat sheet for cover and layer the blanket, duvet, and quilt and we are fine. The bathtub is the perfect size and shape for me and the slope at the back makes it extremely comfortable for a nice relaxing soak! Never had a problem with a lack of hot water. We cook often and the kitchenette is well equipped (like the new microwave!). The washer/dryer is a great help. There are shelves of books -- helpful and interesting. The air conditioner keeps the apartment cool in the summer and the heater keeps it comfortably warm in the winter. Be aware that there are stairs: 45 up to the apartment in addition to the 83 up from the Metro, but that helps balance out all the lovely Parisian pastries! And, yes, there are timed lights on the stairs, one switch is just by the apartment door. We love the area: only a very short walk from the Saint Michel RER station (great if coming from Orly or CDG) and the Metro (if coming from Gare de l'Est). There are numerous restaurants, creperies, and bakeries a short distance away and a Monoprix within easy walking distance. Notre-Dame, St.Severin, and Cluny are all close by. In addition to all of this, Fabrice is very charming and helpful. Need I say that we plan to keep coming back!"

"Lovely apartment with lots of light from windows. Two separate bedrooms and bathrooms make it perfect for adult travelers. A couple of things to know--the apartment is one block back from the Place des Vosges, so there are not views onto the Place. Also the cleaning fee is mandatory, not optional (as in some other rentals where the renter cleans themselves). At the time of our stay, a window blind was not working in a bedroom, so both privacy and light control for sleeping were compromised, and two lamps were without bulbs (and no spares in the flat) making it very dark in the living room at night. Thanks to the owner for making an extra set of keys available to us.
We would recommend the apartment and would consider a return visit. Good restaurants (especially the Cafe des Musee), grocery, and bakery just steps away."

"We stayed in this apartment June 6-13, 2015, and had a wonderful stay for the 4 of us, including two children (17 and 13) who would not sleep in the same bed. Manuel actually included a blow-up air mattress for my son so we had 3 separate beds. It is not a huge apartment, but it is honestly much nicer than the photos portray, and unbelievably economical relative to the prices you could pay in Paris. Manuel, the incredibly kind and generous owner, was fantastic. He actually met us at the airport and transported us to the apartment for a very modest fee. I honestly can not remember the cost, but I do recall it being less expensive than any other option. Manuel took great care of us during our stay, including coming back the next morning to deliver an air conditioning unit. Had it been mid-summer, I am not sure the unit would have kept a family accustomed to the mild climate in the Pacific NW of the US comfortable, but Paris in June is lovely and there were no issues. The property location was fantastic, even after a wonderfully exhausting day walking miles and miles around Paris. It is very near the Bastille metro stop and the Gare De Lyon metro stop and train station. As a family of 4, we used the metro, taxis, and Uber, and found all very economical and convenient. We would stay here again without hesitation."

"My wife and I just returned home from a week-and-a-half stay in this apartment. I would highly recommend it to anyone. Everything we needed was in perfect order. We chose the neighborhood partially because it was close to a friend who lives in Paris but it also turned out to be super convenient for getting around the city. Short walks to lines 6, 10, & 12 of the subway, which is an excellent way to get around. The neighborhood is great- many shops and restaurants nearby but also quiet and away from the craziness of the city center. We cooked some at home and there were numerous markets and supermarkets nearby. We liked that the apartment was in a small complex of a few apartment buildings so our building was off the main street. Once you enter the main entrance you are contained in this really quiet courtyard. It was such a great respite to arrive home every day there to a peaceful place. The apartment is modern and very clean, we used the kitchen often and found everything we needed easily (having a dishwasher was great too). The bed is super comfy and since we are used to a king-size bed at home, I am pleased to tell you that it was extremely comfy and plenty large for us. Added bonus- I am a professional musician and I was super excited when I found out there was an electric piano in the apartment! I didn't know it when I booked the place! We did laundry as well so having a washing machine was great. You could even sit on the cute balcony and glimpse the top of the Eiffel Tower. There's an automated shutter that you can close over the window at night which was really nice to have if you like the room to get very dark! We really loved the building and the apartment and would definitely stay there next time we come to Paris."
