  • Charming Old World Elegance

"What a wonderful immersion we had in Paris! My husband and I rented this apartment in the heart of the Marais for the month of December. Our two adult sons joined us for the second half of the month and we all found the home-away-from-home to be charming, comfortable, clean, and well located for restaurants, shopping, public transportation, and tourist attractions. The two bedrooms (queen and king beds) and two baths were perfect for our family. The  rooms in the apartment were spacious and they easily accommodated the four of us. Like all of the rooms, the kitchen had large windows that opened easily for fresh air on warm, sunny days. During our stay the modern appliances, excellent recipe books, and colorful porceline even encouraged attempts at some French cooking! Sharing his knowledgeable about the history of the Marais and Place des Vosges, Olivier could not have been more kind and accommodating. He made sure we were settled and he was quick to respond to any needs or questions which were few. He also provided recommendations for local specialty shops and restaurants. He takes great pride in his antique furnishings as he should--they are beautiful and add character to the apartment decor truly turning the clock back and making our stay in Place des Vosges seem like yesterday with all the convenience of today!"

  • A great discovery for our first overseas rental

"We had chosen this neighborhood based on a friend's recommendation, then narrowed down the properties based on what we wanted for our 5 night stay. First, we needed a queen-size bed. Easy in the States, but in Europe, you will usually find a double. We also wanted a sofa to relax on and read or watch TV. And a kitchen area with some form of table and at least two chairs. This apartment met all our criteria, was in a terrific location and was extremely comfortable. The bed was good; the water pressure in the shower was great; they provided lots of extras, like robes and slippers. Once we figured out how to get the burners on, we did just fine in the kitchen. Less than a block to a metro station and many bakeries and cafes in the neighborhood. Plus, places to buy food for breakfast or dinner or picnic lunches. Really loved the huge sofa, which is also the size of a queen size bed, in the living room. Two people could easily stretch out and snuggle in it. Apartment is on the third floor (American counting), and the steps can be tricky with luggage. Currently, there is no number on the outside of the building, so we ended up trying the security code on two doors before we found the right one. Hopefully, the number will be replaced soon. Easy transaction with the owners; met at the apartment by someone who showed us how things worked and gave us the keys. Plus, the number of someone to call - which we used when we couldn't get the stove top on. Free wi-fi in the apartment.Lots of info in the apartment about Paris, things to do, and how to do them. Heard very little noise from the neighbors. We walked a lot, but it is very convenient for the metro. Would welcome another visit in the future."

  • Wonderful Place to Stay in Paris

"All of the other glowing reviews of this lovely apartment and the congenial host Eric are spot-on. We just returned home after 10 days, and we loved every minute. It was very comfortable for three adults. Two other friends from our group stayed in a tiny hotel room nearby, at the same cost of this roomy apartment. The other two met us at the apartment each morning before we went out for our daily adventures, and each evening before we went out for dinner. There was plenty of room for the five of us to sit in the living room and enjoy a drink and a snack. Put on your comfortable walking shoes and enjoy the neighborhoods, shopping, and dining in the 3rd and 4th districts, including the areas around Centre Pompidou and Les Halles. We also walked to Notre Dame Cathedral and over to the left bank neighborhoods of 5th and 6th districts. The nearby restaurants and cafes are very good, including those on Place de Vosges. Chez Janou, about a 1-minute walk from the apartment, is outstanding. It has the BEST Chocolate Mousse in the world, I promise! They give you a giant dollop out of a big bowl, and then come around later to ask if you want more! :)"

  • Great apartment, wonderful location

"We stayed for 4 nights in this lovely, modern apartment in a 17th century building. It was beautifully decorated, very comfortable, clean and quiet. The kitchen was well equipped and the bathroom modern. There were even instruction booklets teaching us how to use the appliances. We loved the location. We walked almost everywhere we wanted to go, but the metro was on the corner if we wanted to use it. There was a bakery downstairs and a supermarket a block away. We were near tourist attractions but the area where the apartment is felt more like one where Parisians lived. We were very happy with our choice."
