"Being situated on a market street immediately above a café runs the risk of a little noise, but that’s a small price for being in the Marais, literally a few steps from several cafes, four or five bakers (including Poilâne), three or four wineshops, excellent cheese shop, Italian, Greek and French traiteurs, not to forget the butcher across the road. We popped over to breakfast at Rose's Bakery, and lunch and more than one dinner at Le Bougnat, with the wife in the kitchen, husband chatting to customers. You need to book at neo-bistro Les Enfants Rouges in rue de Beauce. And that’s before mentioning the Enfants Rouges market itself, mainly with prepared dishes of all varieties. No need to go hungry.
For a month, we went too all parts of Paris, and needed only occasional Metro trips, what with the useful bus nearby, but mainly because we could walk everywhere.
As the plan of the delightful apartment shows, it is sunny (even in December-January), and relatively spacious for Paris with one bedroom downstairs and the privacy of distance to the other, doubling as tv room. With dining, offices with desks, places for lounging, the apartment itself could not be more civilised, nor the owners."
