Recent Paris Arr. 4 (Marais, Hotel de Ville) reviews

  • Room to Relax in Great Location

"Our family of 5 (3 young adult children) thoroughly enjoyed this location and fully outfitted apartment. The location is very nice and convenient. The 3 levels were especially nice so we could all have some space from our constant togetherness. As well, the apartment is fully stocked with linens and kitchen utensils. A Monoprix is just a few blocks away making grocery shopping easy. Also a fabulous bakery down the street. And the St. Paul metro stop is also just a few blocks, yet the apartment is off the main street and is very, very quiet. Fernando met us at the apartment and was very helpful in orienting our stay and suggestions for Paris. Our stay was super! Yes, we recommend this property."

  • Parisian Paradise

"We were among the luckiest of visitors to Paris, renting Marie Christine and Marc's apartment for a week. It is as the reviews say -- everything you need in a small but charming space. We had high expectations after reading the reviews, and we were not disappointed. The owners have exquisite taste, with furnishings of high quality, from the chairs and Murphy bed, to the kitchenware and linens. The view of the Seine and the Hotel de Ville is as romantic as one dreams Paris could be. Morning to midnight the ever-shifting light and activity is delightful enjoyed from the comfort of the chairs, with croissant and coffee or glass of wine in hand. The bathroom shower was lovely, the kitchen small but well-appointed. We particularly liked that the apartment had an elevator. Coming back to the apartment after a morning or a day of walking all over Paris, in museums and through parks, etc, we appreciated the ease of coming "home". The memories of being in this apartment are so beautiful, it is difficult to write a review that sounds believable. But, like others before us, we were enchanted by the experience of staying here. Marc and Marie Christine were warm and responsive to all our needs. Marc's welcome to the apartment was among the most enjoyable encounters we experienced during our three month journey in France. Thank you both for a lovely home away from home in Paris. We would definitely stay here again if we are lucky enough to return."

  • Elegant and well designed apartment in a great location

"After having spent a night there, I can tell you whoever put the apartment together did a terrific job and has a very good eye with nice attention to is really well done and well thought out... Really a lovely place. We had a wonderful trip to Paris and staying at this apartment made it perfect. Our only regret was that we could not stay longer. We loved the location and the many amenities you provided and some that we had not anticipated. We loved the local bakeries, shops, restaurants and points of interest. Thank you for all your heklp in making this an 80th birthday to remember. We wish we could have met the owner. We have already recommended it to our friends and relatives. We hope that we can visit again soon--if not me, my daughters and their families."

  • Wonderful apartment, excellent location

"My husband and I have spent two vacations at Alina's apartment, once for two weeks, and most recently for one week. The first time, we were accompanied by one other person. This time, there were five of us - all "60-ish". The location speaks for itself, but I must add that the convenient central location made it a delight to visit all the requisite sites without a car. Metro and bus stops are close by, but for most of what we did, we just walked. And of course, there are many wonderful restaurants and shops in the immediate area. The apartment was wonderful! Some highlights: - Even though our early-spring visits weren't as sunny as we might have wished, the enormous garden patio (accessible through several French doors) was a nice, quiet refuge when we needed time away from the city. - Everything we needed to prepare the few meals we had in the apartment was available to us. The kitchen is small by bloated US standards, but was perfect (and well-equipped) for our needs. - Three separate bedrooms provided us each with sufficient privacy, while the living room and dining area were very comfortable when we came together. - The apartment is on the ground floor, but entry to it is secured by three locking doors. That's a great combination of convenience and security. And, finally, our experiences with the owner of the apartment were easy and top-notch. Though not residing in Paris, Alina was easy to reach and had several local people available to us for assistance. She was always very helpful and accommodating to our needs. Thank you, Alina, for your kindness and for sharing your wonderful apartment with us!"
