Recent Paris Arr. 5 (Latin Quarter) reviews

  • Great location and just the right size

"My husband and I chose this VRBO rental due to the location and the amenities. We were traveling without a car and planned to use the metro or walk everywhere. We wanted to be close to the metro as well as walking distance to restaurants, bistro's and shops. We were an 800 meter walk to the metro and the Notre Dame Cathedral. The Latin Quarter and Rue Mouffetard markets were both in walking distance. There were also a couple of small grocery stores and a boulangerie, fromagerie and wine shop within walking distance. We stopped at those several times during our stay to pick up items. We were also looking for a place we could return to after a busy morning and afternoon of sightseeing and prepare a light snack and enjoy a glass of wine before venturing out for our evening activities. The studio provided a couch, table and small kitchen that allowed us to feel more relaxed and gave us a place to retreat to after hours of sightseeing. The bed was also quite comfortable. The other notable part is that this is a ground floor rental, for those who may have issues with stairs, this would be ideal for you. Eric is a lovely host and provided all the essentials and then allowed us to enjoy the property. We would stay here again and we would recommend this place to others."

  • Pleasant apartment, excellent location

"We spent the final night of a three-country vacation at this apartment, and it was a perfect spot for us. Philippe was very helpful and communicative, and he left us an information sheet with restaurant, market, and cafe recommendations. The apartment was small but clean and had everything we needed, and we enjoyed the wonderful old building and picturesque courtyard. The street was quiet enough that we could sleep with the windows open. Other reviewers have noted the stairs. Though we had no trouble with the stairs, they could be difficult for someone who has mobility issues or very large suitcases. The location is wonderful--the Latin Quarter is very friendly and lively. Excellent value, and great host. Thank you, Philippe!"

  • Loved it so much we're going back!

"What a find this was for us! Perfect for a couple who wants the flexibility of being on the edge of the tourists but in vrai Paris. Easy walk to the Latin quarter, and ile de la cite. The apartment was very comfortable for two and very clean, including the linens - something that was important to us. We stayed for over a month and would have loved to stay longer. The elevator was great after a long day of walking. The air conditioning was nice to have as Parisian weather can vary from cool to very hot, as it did for us. The proprietor is very helpful and as accessible as necessary. Great place to stay."

  • A fine place to get to know Paris

"My sister, friend and I stayed in this lovely apartment for a week, and enjoyed every minute. We were greeted on our arrival and given all the information we needed to settle right in. The owners were a phone call away if we had any problems. The pictures of the rooms were very accurate, and the garden outside was starting to bloom. The building was quiet and a welcome place after a day of walking and riding the Metro to see as much as we could in our week. We really enjoyed the neighborhood with many shops, food markets, and restaurants. The people we met each day were very kind about our limited French."
