"Our goal for this trip to Paris was to visit cathedrals, museums, and do some painting and sketching along the Seine. The Studio St-Germain apartment was perfectly situated for all of those activities as it has an enviable location right in the heart of everything we wanted to do. There are many fine bistros, markets, boulangeries, and great shopping within easy walking distance of the flat. I took very pleasant strolls down to the river in the mornings, set up and painted for several hours, while my fiancée went shopping, sketched, and found excellent places for us to explore and eat in the afternoons. This was our first VRBO rental in Paris, as we have always stayed at hotels there before, but it won't be our last. If you have not tried a flat in Paris, it is so much better than staying in a hotel; the ability to prepare some simple meals and have a pleasant breakfast together before each day's activities saved us quite a bit of money as Paris can be an expensive place to visit. When you are trying to choose a flat in the 6th Arrondisement and other areas, I highly recommend Thierry's properties. Thierry is an excellent host and is very helpful, without being obtrusive in the least. On our next trip to Paris, we will definitely look for Paris Best Lodges on VRBO to make our selection for a flat.
[Note, other reviews have mentioned the steps up to the flat, but that is the reality in most Paris apartments. I'm 62 and have bad knees, but I did not find the steps a problem at all. In fact, I lost 5 pounds on our trip to France, even while drinking fine wine and eating some very good (i.e., rich) meals and my personal downfall, the excellent desserts (on that happy note, walk over to Un Dimanche à Paris, just a short stroll away from the flat, their desserts are divine and the service is excellent). I attribute that serendipitous weight loss to all the walking and the daily trips up and down the 54 steps to the flat, so it was a good thing for me.]"
