Recent Paris Arr. 6 (Latin Quarter, St. Germain) reviews
"Excellent location for our family to explore Paris for the first time. Every shopping need is just outside the door, Metro access is a very short walk, and the Notre Dame area is 5 minutes walk. It was so easy to adventure all around town but to be able to get back to the apartment at any time within minutes was so great. Thanks very much!"

Comfortable apartment, great location, a few drawbacks
"We rented this apartment for one month. We found the beds very comfortable and the aesthetics of the apartment to be spacious and pleasant. The loft has a very low ceiling so if you are tall you should stay in the main bedroom which is full of interesting memorabilia. The staircase leading to the loft, as noted in many reviews, is tight. We suspended a rope from the loft so that suitcases could be pulled up from below. Otherwise, for people our age, getting the suitcases up the stairs would have been very difficult. The storage space for clothing in the loft is a large desktop; there is no closet space or shelving in that room. The bathrooms are beautiful. Both have a douche-style apparatus. The hook to make the second bathroom into a shower was broken so you had to hold the nozzle to bathe in both bathrooms. Still, two bathing rooms is a lovely luxury. Not only that, but the loft has its own toilet so people don't have to go up and down the narrow staircase at night.
The neighborhood is fantastic with easy connections to many bus and metro lines. Great restaurants and shopping within walking distance. Don't miss the Grand Epicirie on Rue Sevres and St. Placide. The best supermarket you will ever see. Also, the little Italian restaurant on Cherche Midi called "Cherche Midi" has delicious food and house wines. Make a reservation.
We found the drawbacks to be the following:
The apartment had been given a "quick clean" and was really quite dirty by our standards. The baseboards were dusty, the walls and doors were dirty with drips, fingerprints, and smears. There was hair on the floors. I like to live in a well-kept, clean-looking environment but my description of the level of cleanliness may not bother everyone.
Another drawback for us was that, as we were staying a month and planning on cooking, many of the pots and pans in the kitchen were not usable. For example, one had been severely scorched and was caked with a black crust on the bottom. Another was greasy and missing an important handle. There was no garlic press - we bought one but took it home. Also, we were not happy with the general state of most of the cooking utensils. But again, that is a personal standard. If you don't plan to do much cooking, it will probably not be a problem.
There were plenty of towels and bed linens.
In general, we were very comfortable here and the price adjustment for the month rental was generous, making this a good value."

"L'Odéon is the perfect apartment in the St Germain/Luxembourg area on a quiet street close to all the action. My husband and I stayed here for eight days and had a perfect time. The property managers were amazing, there was some construction going on in the courtyard and they worked with us (offering to move us, which we opted out of) and were very detailed about everything. The construction didn't bother us at all, but we were glad they let us know before we arrived. The bedroom area is quiet, and the separate living room was superb. There was plenty of closet space, I saw one review below and I think there must have been something wrong with him because I hung my things in the armoire and the regular closet without incident. There was also a cabinet in bedroom to lay out folded clothes. The kitchen was very big and well stocked with the gadgets you'd need for your vacation. I cannot recommend this apartment highly enough. Absolutely perfect stay!"

"The apartment was perfect and met all of our needs. We are two instructors who needed to be close to the St. John's University Paris campus. The apartment is close to two metro stops and has cafés and markets in the vicinity. It is a nice sized apartment with everything one might need. The owner and manager were very nice and easy to work with. We would recommend this apartment!"
