great choice for feeling like a Parisian for a few days
"Having been to Paris a few times, we wanted to stay in a quiet residential neighbourhood and feel like a local so decided to rent this place. The apartment is in a very nice and safe neighbourhood with plenty of choices for shopping all sorts of things (from clothing to food to flowers to specialty items). If you are on a culinary mission, this is the place to be to shop like a local from the many stores nearby (from caviar to cheese to pastries, etc..). There are also many cafes and restaurants to choose from. It is a decent walking distance to many of the major sights (20-30 minutes) and a 5-7 minutes to the metro or bus station.
The apartment is a good size for Paris standards and well maintained. Xavier was very responsive to emails. He was there to welcome us and show us the apartment and came early on Saturday to get the keys as we were leaving on an early morning flight which we appreciated.
The street can be busy and noisy especially on Friday and Saturday evenings with many out on the street until the wee hours singing after having many drinks but I guess this is the case for most streets in Paris.
I also would have preferred not to worry about the housekeeping before leaving (such as emptying the garbage, taking the bed linen out, sweeping the floors) as this is what I would expect to be covered in the cleaning fee. One less thing to worry about when you pack.
Despite all that, I would consider renting the apartment again on my next visit to Paris.
What I liked about the apartment:
- nice neighbourhood
- decent space (for Paris standards)
- quiet building
- local calls available from the home phone
- safe to keep your valuables (although as I said it is a very safe area)
What can be improved:
- internet connection (was sketchy at times)
- cleaning requirements at departure"

"Our family of 5 stayed at the Saint Germain apartment. It is a clean, cute, and well-appointed apartment that suited our needs perfectly. (really appreciated the washer/dryer) It is perfectly located near cafes, restaurants, and metro stops. We could also walk to many of the sites. We were greeted by the super friendly and helpful, David, who showed us around the apartment and gave us some recommendations to local cafes and restaurants. When we had a medical emergency and had to extend our stay in Paris for three days, David was AMAZING and helped us find an available place to stay. He prevented a disastrous end to our vacation. - THANK YOU Manuela and David. We would stay here again."

"The location was extremely convenient allowing us to walk or take transit to the Champs Élysées Christmas markets and the Eiffel Tower Christmas markets. As well you can easily walk to the Ferraro Rocher skating at the Grand Palais. Rue Cler has great wine stores, food, boulangeries, and everything including ready to go meals. Easy shopping.
The bedroom is roomy with lots of room for your suitcases and shopping. The kitchen is well stocked with dishes, towels and cooking gear. The bathroom is normal for Europe but tiny for North America. It works just as well though. Just be organized and keep supplies elsewhere. Great linens with nice fluffy towels, soft sheets and wonderful pillows.
The stairs are a challenge for non fit people to carry luggage up but it's doable and very normal for Europe.
Loved staying here.
The apartment heats up quickly to take off the winter chill."
