"How wonderful to have had the opportunity to stay in the Camus for the second time in a year. I had pleasure of staying in the apartment Sept 2013 with friends, (Boston Girls). We all fell in love with the location and the apartment, I knew I was coming back the question was when. I had a milestone birthday coming up in August 2014 and thought what a better way to celebrate than to bring my family to Paris. There were three generations and we ranged from 14 to 82, the apartment is the perfect place to call home when in Paris. It is large enough so that everyone has space but yet lends itself to being together in the dining/living area. The cheese shop next door to ST Paul’s is the best in Paris. Wine and pastry shops are also very close by, it doesn’t get any better than the Marais. After a day of touring it was wonderful to return home to our apartment. Working with Our Home in Paris staff is an experience in itself; talk about meeting your expectations, they go beyond. Everyone is helpful from the time of initial booking until you return home. High marks of course go to Marc, who for the second year was the point person; it was like seeing an old friend when I returned. Marc also arranged for our driver Ivan, who took such good care of my sister who is 82 and uses a walker, Ivan picked us up and returned us to the airport and didn’t leave until he was sure we were settled. Certainly not expected but it made all the difference the day we departed, the airport was mobbed and I can’t imagine how we would have navigated without him. A gem for sure. The perfect apartment and location for just about anyone who wants to visit Paris. Jim, Karl, Marc and Ivan, thank you for your part in my celebration."Guest: Chris Date of Stay: August 2014 Review Submitted: September 8, 2014View listing
"We have become so comfortable with Jennifer's St Mande apartment that we refer to it as the apartment. I think it is our fifth stay. Such a comfort to return to our favorite city knowing that we can settle in and pick up where we left off last visit . The apartment is easy to access, on the prime subway line for tourist areas, has a bus at the door making for ease of travel in Paris . The neighborhood and the neighbouring Vincennes have all you could possibly need. Local restaurants are great, with Le Ruisseau, just around the corner, our favorite. "Le notre"is a block away if you are looking for a cooking school. We consider this apt. " a find". The apartment itself is modest, always freshly cleaned, perfectly adequate for a month long stay."Guest: Helen C. Date of Stay: August 2014 Review Submitted: October 2, 2014View listing
"I stayed off season and benefited from a reduced rate, but I would pay a bit more for the apartment in warmer months if only for the wonderful terrace — so lovely was it that I bundled up for December temps and sat outside with a drink many times, taking in the always pleasing view of the roofs. The apartment was ideal for a solo traveler (though could work for two or a couple plus baby [no bath but a big trough sink in the kitchen]). Very well appointed — it had character and warmth, was stocked with thoughtful, streamlined essentials (some DVDs, a Bialetti, lots of good Paris books). The smart layout makes a smallish space feel spacious (everything is discreetly tucked away, the loft bed feels like a private escape at the end of the day and how fun to fall asleep staring at the stars over Paris through the skylight). Really nice sitting area. The kitchen is small, but facilitates picnic dinners of charcuterie, fromages and salades procured during days spend walking across the city. Alexandre made the excellent recommendation of the Marché des Enfants Rouges (a 30 second walk away), which has about ten great restaurants (Moroccan, bento, Italian, organic, burgers, Lebanese) that also offer takeaway, fruit and veg stands, a little bookseller offering great vintage postcards, etc. The location is terrific, a good compromise between those who favour off-the-beaten-path and the concentrated tourist centre, on a quiet street near the Marais, but thankfully not in the heart of it (you can avoid Vielle de Temple should you find yourself exasperated with claustrophobia around all those slow-walking foreign hipsters in Parisian sheep’s clothing). Easy walk to the splendours of Belleville, both the old (Chinese pharmacies, Algerian bakeries) and new (experimental wine bars from young neo bistro chefs). Five minutes from Chasse et Nature (go!) Check in and check out were easy. It was a really quiet apartment throughout the day and night and I found it very easy to sleep (almost no sounds from the road, some noise from the building's internal courtyard audible, but it's a quiet building). Two very minor issues (that won't prevent me from renting it again): The dryer didn't work/beeped occasionally (though he was addressing this issue on my day of departure) and there was a bit of a stagnant water smell from the electric toilet (so what? Keep the bathroom door closed and it's fine or open the balcony doors...)"Guest: Liz Date of Stay: December 2013 Review Submitted: January 10, 2014View listing
"My wife and I have now returned to the UK after our few days break in Paris. The apartment was very much to our liking and the arrival with Caroline worked well. The building is 18th century but the apartment has been extensively renovated. We slept well, the mattress being super comfortable. There was plenty of hot water so one could languish in the bath rather than showering after a hard days Musee bashing! http://www.parisdwellers.com/The-Apartment.htm There are many restaurants in the Rue Mouffatard and as well as having an evening meal we also enjoyed the Petit Dejeuner at one of the numerous street cafes. The Pantheon is very close and the Notre Dame is only a 15/20 minutes walk from the apartment. We also walked to the Louvre and the Musee d'Orsay. The Place Monge metro station is quite close and on a direct line to the Louvre. All in all a great trip, apartment and location. HOT TIP: Instead of joining the queue at the main entrance (Pyramid) for the Louvre take the Porte des Lions side entrance."Guest: Geoff S.
