  • A home away from home, perfectly charming

"This was just the most perfect holiday we have had in a while. We felt at home from the start. The owner went to great pains to make sure we knew our way around the property and its amenities, sharing things to do and making us feel relaxed. The property is pretty, bright,clean,well-maintained and equipped and the wifi is reasonable. The planchette was great for (man) cooking on the patio. The pool is extremely clean and maintained and although it is shared with the owner, we always were alone. Table tennis is available with a few pool inflatables. A welcome bottle of lovely Gaillac wine, juice and flowers, with aperitifs to finish our holiday in the chateau with the owner and his wife, all contributed to our wonderful stay. The location, on a hill, has a view to die for! The property is a mixture of old stone and modernity, with all the mod cons. Although it is a little isolated (with plenty of hills around) it is about 15 minutes by car to Puy Laurens, where there are all the local small shops you need plus a couple of reasonable supermarkets. It is a perfect location for exploring the Pays de Cocagne. Our favourites were Cordes Sur Ciel, Toulouse, Castres and Albi and there are so many small villages including Lautrec, which capture the spirit of the area. Do visit the Chateau of Magrin, which houses the (small) pastel museum, a truly fascinating experience. It throws much light on this area's history and development. We enjoyed cycling on the voie vertes, our favourites being from Revel, Mazamet and Saint Sulpice. The selection of restaurants is limited, partly because of the August holidays. L'Etoile, nearby in Puy Laurens, although not much to look at, served lovely food in the evening. We would also recommend Pub St Martin in Soreze and Cafe du Lac, near Revel. We would love to revisit this area and to return to Mas Du Tour. Highly recommended."

  • Wonderful place to stay in Collioure

"My wife and I spent a truly great week at this apartment. The apartment is immaculate with a fully equipped kitchen, spacious bathroom and very comfortable double beds. The views across to the fortress on Collioure harbor and the lights at night are wonderful. We also loved the crashing sound of the Mediterranean waves each night. Grocery shopping and good restaurants are nearby and we walked into both Collioure and Port Vendres frequently. Finally, Nadine, the owner, was exceptionally easy to deal with. Her English is perfect and she was very patient whenever we had concerns,"

  • Laid-back vacation in characterful surroundings

"Beautiful, well-equipped home with all mod cons yet echoing its long history. Perfect for relaxing. Quiet village location far from the madding crowd, with the advantages of a good local restaurant and bar, a boulangerie a few steps from the house and a grocery store stocking all daily essentials (sadly, many French villages have lost all these amenities). Caretakers Graham and Josie most welcoming and helpful. Our family group of two couples were very happy lazing around the pool in the small outside space. The house is on various levels, and the staircase would be challenging for anyone with reduced mobility."

  • A true home

"Yet again we had a great summer in Caussi. Lili is now 8 years old which means this is our 8th visit. We wanted to say a few warm words about how you make the house feels like we visit a friends house and not any ordinary characterless gite. The house is generous In light, in its scenery, in its effortless style, in its kitchen spices and utensils! In its bed linen! and more. It is such an optimistic welcoming house and each time when we sit on the terrace and see the Pyrenees mountains on the south or the fire works on the beach at night (40km away!) it fills us with joy. Beautiful. For us the house sits on the right spot between mountain and sea. We love to go to the beach at Portiragne but also to lake Vailhan or for river swimming at Roquebrun. We saw a great exposition of Rosson Crow this year at Serignan and of course we went to the MIAM at Sete. Yael took this year couple more horse riding lessons and has become a real cowgirl :-) even Ada started to take Poney lessons. On the last weekend there was a concert at the Chateau (flute & Harp) and even this year we discovered a new great market at Lamalou-les bains (on tuesday). We already miss it till next summer. All the best Yaniv Yael and the girls"
