Great family vacation property
"Our family spent 5 weeks in beautiful St. Cyprien this winter.
We sincerely want to thank Patrick, the owner of this villa. We cannot thank you enough for all the information you gave us and how accommodating you were. You were always prompt with any questions that we sent via emails, or via the phone.
The home was very clean, and very inviting. The bedrooms were spacious, and slept 10 comfortably. The furniture in the living area was very comfortable. We also enjoyed the fresh smells from the lemon tree when we sat out on the patio on those bright sunny days.
Patrick would also call during our stay to make sure everything was OK, and if there were any issues.
Patrick's suggestions in shopping, eating, and site seeing, were very helpful in making many of our choices. We especially enjoyed our daily morning trips to the Boulangerie for their fresh pastries. Our favorite Boulangerie was the one at the Port, which is about 5 minutes from the villa.
There were also some great restaurants close to the villa. Restaurant L'Aquarium is one that we would definitely recommend if you are looking for something a little more upscale.
The people in St. Cyprien were also very nice. Our French was limited at best, and the people were very patient in trying to understand us.
In regards to day trips, there is so much to see around the St. Cyprien area. Patrick’s home was a great home base, in a nice quiet neighborhood.
If anyone we know would be going to that part of France we would definitely recommend them contacting Patrick.
With our deepest appreciation,
The Manning – New Hampshire, USA."

"Let me start by saying that I have stayed in approximately 35 vacation rental properties in the last 10 years in the USA, Spain, Portugal, France and the UK. To paraphrase Forrest Gump, apartment rentals "are like a box of chocolates, you never know what you are going to get." There are often surprises some good, and some not so good. This one had a lot of good surprise. First, it has a wonderful shower; good water pressure, ample room, and that most welcome of bathroom amenities for Americans, a shower curtain to keep the water in the shower. It also has the absolute BEST laundry equipment in any rental that I have ever seen. The equipment was easy to use and the dryer was a real dryer, not a wire rack. The Cathar Cottage is very roomy. My wife and I traveled alone but if you have a couple of kids (age 6 and up) they would absolutely love this place. It has an third level for the kids to sleep in that kids will love. Pennautier is a very small village but it is a short drive to Carcassonne. There are also great day trips you can make such as Minerve and Lastours. Lastours is a super place to see and only about 30 minutes away. You can hike up to 4 sets of castle ruins and it isn't that strenuous a hike (or I wouldn't have done it). Great views of the countryside. If you drive in this village I suggest that you do not drive your car down the street that the apartment is on. The bottom of the street narrows drastically. Just park on the main street above the apartment and wheel your luggage down the hill about 50 meters. Hey, nothing's perfect. Making the arrangements was very easy and the owners were super nice and prompt with all communication. I would highly recommend this apartment."

"We have stayed here in Serviers et LaBaume with Ghislaine and David 3 times and plan to visit again later this year. The house is very comfortable, great bed, and the kitchen well equipped and the views from the terrace are sublime. The property accesses the promenades and grandees randonees out the back door and there are seemingly endless sites and walks and villages to visit in the area. Uzes, the most beautiful small town in France is just 5 minutes away with great restaurants and shops and a lively market twice a week all year. David and Ghislaine are marvelous hosts. Couldn't be better!"
