  • Family Reunion

"Le Mas de la Chapelle in the pretty, quiet, sleepy hamlet of St Eulalie is the best property we have yet rented in Provence. We planned a family reunion there with nine of us, coming from the UK, USA and South Africa. Because of the group size we were concerned that we should not feel cramped for space, so were delighted with the spacious living and sleeping accommodations, well-equipped kitchen and patio garden with pool - as we planned most days to be relaxing by the pool in the sun. Because of the way the house has been laid out we had more than enough room and never felt in each other’s space. To the contrary, we often had three different social activities going on in the house: the second floor sitting room a group watching some international sporting event on the satellite TV with all major UK channels, the first floor sitting room a social gathering place for those non-sun lovers and outside a fantastic patio, dining and sun bathing area for everyone with a perfect temperature pool by the side for a dip. The kitchen was exceptionally well equipped, the house has ample bathrooms throughout and all bedrooms are of a good size. For the more energetic of us we had regular table tennis championships by the pool, while a short walk from the house (or a quick ride using the house bikes) are two tennis courts in excellent condition, which we always found empty (the key is in the little basket by the cookbooks). For those of a serious cycling disposition excellent quality road and mountain bikes can be hired from Village Velo in St. Quentin La Poterie, 5 kms from Uzes. The rolling countryside around St. Eulalie provides some decent riding circuits. For our occasional excursions we loved the market in Uzes (Saturday and Wednesday), tasting at local wineries and olive oil mills and artisan soap shopping. Also the Pont du Gard, Avignon and Nimes are easily reached from the house. But I suppose most importantly Le Mas de la Chapelle is a beautiful old house that has been modernized and furnished to a superb standard for all the needs of a group of 9-12 people. We would highly recommend it for anyone looking for a holiday home in Provence."

  • Very close to the old city. Lovely clean apartment

"A beautifully clean and well maintained apartment with everything you require. Very close to the lovely old city....you can see the walled city from the lounge/kitchen windows. Well equipped with everything you require for a comfortable stay. An amazing abundance of excellent cafes/bars/restaurants to choose from in the old city. The listing description was accurate with regards location, layout, facilities etc. Ludovic provided excellent customer service. I would not hesitate to recommend this property to a friend or relative and we would hope to use it again in the future."

  • Excellent Value Vacation

"We spent a very nice sunny week in this spacious village house. The house itself is traditional and rustic, with many old features, including lovely antique bedroom furniture. The bedrooms are all surprisingly large, with a good sized living room and kitchen. While we reached temperatures of 37C outside, the house remained pleasantly cool due to the thick stone walls. The walled and very private garden is also large for a village centre property. The house was very clean and well stocked, and the kids' pool table and table-tennis very much used and appreciated. The location is really good, a short distance to Uzes, which is a beautiful town with many restaurants, and only 25-30 minutes to the center of Nimes and its fantastic Roman arena, Maison Carree and pleasant city centre. A great Super Intermarche is only 10 minutes away. Sainte Eulalie itself is a very small and quiet village, a real get-away-from-it-all, but yet just a short distance from many amenities and tourist sights. The surrounding countryside is beautiful, with many fields of sunflowers. For what you get and the price you pay, the house is excellent value, and deserves a 5-star rating for this. I would suggest the shower may need upgrading, and the trees some pruning (we Northern Europeans are generally sun-starved, and welcome the sun!), but, given the value of the vacation, these are trivial points."

  • I would revisit here and Uzes in a heartbeat!

"June 2014 This is a well appointed and renovated easy to live in villa just a gentle walk in to the charming village. The first morning I opened the front door to slip out for a run and the sky was dotted with hot air balloons. Temperatures in the thirties but the house was cool and the pool long enough to swim in to cool down. Good mattresses too..so important! Turn left to be in the countryside , turn right to go to the village.I think the rental cycle should be Friday to Friday as we missed the highly regarded market both days as we were arriving and leaving."
