  • Would not hesitate returning

"Our booking was handled efficiently but from the photographs in the advertisement we were concerned that this house might be too elegant for our holiday home. On arrival we discovered it had a very lived-in look. The advertised description and photographs properly reflect the property with period furniture (well used) mixed with modern. We were warmly welcomed by the owner who spent a lot of time explaining the operation of the various appliances in the small but well-equipped kitchen. A welcome package of food and basket of fruit were generously provided. Throughout our stay, the owner was very attentive and responsive without being obtrusive. The master bedroom - at the front of the house, overlooking the boulevard is spacious but very noisy when windows are open (there is no air-conditioning in this room). The shower and wash basin en-suite to this room are very small with insufficient shelving. The bedroom at the rear, overlooking the garden is comfortable and very quiet. This room is fitted with air-conditioning. Both toilets are very small and could be a challenge for larger persons. The house is ideally located in the centre of town, with covered parking on site – a valuable feature, especially on market days. The garden is lush and is set nicely around the pool with ample top-quality furniture and umbrellas – truly peaceful. We were very comfortable and enjoyed our stay. We would not hesitate returning if we visited Carcassonne again."

  • Exceptional quality and breathtaking views!

"We stayed for a week with our two children (aged 3 and 6). The cottage is located in a historic vineyard (Daumas Gassac) in Aniane, a quaint medieval village about 40 mins north of Montpellier. This is an exceptional property with absolutely breathtaking views. We were greeted promptly and welcomed with several complementary bottles of the winery's Rose Frizant. The cottage has been fully renovated and includes every modern amenity - yet retains many of its original stonework which really gives it its charm. There were two bedrooms and two baths, bedding was of exceptional quality, and I loved the bathrobes! The cottage was tastefully appointed, impeccably clean, and very well equipped. The fresh water infinity pool was gorgeous (and heated), with incredible views of the adjacent vineyard and rolling hills of the region. There were many pool toys on hand, and the ledges at either side of the pool made it more accessible to our young children. Our hosts Samuel and Muffi were gracious and responsive to our every need. They provided many recommendations for bakeries, markets, and restaurants - and even took care of making reservations. We had children of similar ages who had many opportunities to play and swim together - my kids keep asking when we can see them again ! This property is great for families (esp younger children) as backyard contains swing set and trampoline. Don't miss a tour of the winery or the wine - it is excellent (I particularly loved the 2013 White). In short, an exceptional property with wonderful hosts. Their 5-star rating is well deserved. Looking forward to our opportunity to return! Thanks to you both, Samuel and Muffi - and hopefully our paths will cross again (in France or SF :)"
