  • An Oasis

"We loved the peace and getting away from it all feel of this lovely property, with very welcoming hosts and beatiful setting. We liked the swimming pool, swimming in the early evening as a family. All very clean and well presented, just like a home, not just a place to stay. Great attention to detail."

  • The Real Thing in the Langue d'Oc Countryside

"A peaceful glow still comes back when we remember our week at this unique place. Our stay was like going back in time, to a place removed from commercial-industrial modern stressful life. The town is the real thing of countryside France, a place with medieval roots, its own culture, and a winemaking tradition that has kept the town alive. The clustered buildings of the town seem to have grown out from an outcropping where the church and its courtyard were built long ago. Like a cubist painting, houses cluster out so that the entire town nestles on the hillside over the valley of the Agly River. It's a beautiful place. The house has a feel of 19th Century elegance. It is simple and straightforward as appropriate for this rugged countryside. But with its 5 bedrooms, 2-1/2 baths, thick-walled shuttered windows, formal dining room, big fireplace, and 2 picturesque terraces, it is your country manor house. No trashy modern furnishings, but framed pictures, big carved armoires, and a taste for the theatrical, not surprising since the owners are filmmaker-artists. Looking out over the town, with an evening sky and the church bell marking the hour, is a vacationer's dream. Amandine was delightful as our local host. Everything was clean and neat, and she was totally responsive to our needs. This is a place not to be missed. We will go back as soon as we can."
