Great Location in Old Town Uzes
"We stayed for 10 nights and loved it. Great location, lots of room, comfortable king size bed!! Nice kitchen, even a small washing machine to catch up on our laundry. Brigitte was a great help in the rental and gave us some nice tips on things to see. Uzes is a great medieval walking town, great places to eat, cafes, and several fantastic markets held each week. It was easily our best value stay on our 3 week trip to France. Highly recommend!! 5 STARS !!!!"

"My wife and I have been renting homes from owners in France and Italy for twenty years, usually for two or three week stays. We have always wanted to settle into a village for a longer period and were fortunate to rent this fantastic house in St Maurice de Cazavieille, a friendly XIIth Century village rich with history, for four months. Our high expectations for this extended stay were exceeded. We were familiar with the region, so we moved at a slower pace and spent many days at home in the village, exploring the many hiking trails through scenic vineyards and woodlands and were able to "let go". Nearby towns with excellent markets were frequent destinations. We especially enjoyed St Quentin de Poterie, Uzes, Nice (great daily indoor market), Sommeliers and Alles. There are many fine restaurants in the area and a trip to a market can easily be combined with lunch in the same town. This was easily our favorite house and region, and every week we found something interesting to see and do. Do not miss the running of the bulls in town if one is scheduled during your stay!
The house comes as advertised and is well described by previous reviewers. We are serious cooks, and the kitchen was more than adequate. Grilling on the pool deck, surrounded by medieval buildings is a special treat. Bedrooms are very comfortable and quiet, and we never tired of looking out the windows overlooking houses and fields. The defensive rampart comprises the north wall of the house, and the two bedrooms on the top floor are many feet above the narrow road below. Bryan has renovated the master bath, which is first class. Living in an historic house (wall built by the Knights Templar, as was the narrow "portelet" just a few feet from the front door) adds to the magic. Be advised, however, that the spiral staircase would be a challenge to one with impaired mobility.
Brian was very informative and cooperative in all dealings. Special mention must be made of Graham and Josie's dedication to the house and guests. They are "hands on" in the best of ways - informative, friendly and caring. They know all the good restaurants and destinations in the area. We soon became good friends, sharing meals, trips to markets and more than a few glasses of 3 Tours Vins. We thank them for everything and do miss them. The folks in the village are friendly and outgoing, impossible to pass without receiving a pleasant "bon jour".
We highly recommend this rental."

"After looking at every feasible place with 35-45 miles of Avignon, we chose this villa in Vers Pont du Gard, and it met or exceeded every expectation. A quiet location with security and privacy behind locked gates. An amazing kitchen for those who like to shop for food and cook French meals, plus a grill just outside. Two tables inside and two tables outside for a place to dine. A very large shower and bath/jacuuzzi area with twin sinks. Two comfortable sleeping rooms with plenty of storage. A comfortable area for TV, DVD, Internet and WiFi.
A five minute walk takes you to a local grocer, bakery, and wine producer. Nearby there are a variety of attractions to satisfy every interest and to keep you busy, plus there are a wide selection of restaurants to please almost anyone. What's not to love about this villa?"

"We had two weeks in this lovely home and only wish we could have stayed longer. The house has all that you would need and soon feels like a home from home. To be honest, the weather was so perfect during our stay that we spent most of our time in the outside areas. The shaded dining area right outside of the back door was perfect for the fresh bread and pastries that we walked into Uzes for each morning and a treat in the evening for meals cooked on the barbecue. The pool area has a wonderful mix of sun and shade throughout the day and the pool itself definitely appreciated when cooling off was needed! Stephanie and Thierry could not have been more helpful and welcoming. Luckily for us their English is far superior to our French, so communication was good. As for Uzes itself, it is a truly lovely town, with every amenity. It was not our first stay in the area and we still could come back for more! The walk from the house into Uzes is an easy stroll and what better start to the day than a meandering walk into the boulangerie? Or in the evening for a long, leisurely dinner? We would definitely recommend this property and the area."
