  • Enchanting Castle in a Fairy tale village...

"This was my third time staying in this wonderful village. The newly renovated Coeur de Lion was my first choice as it was highly recommended by friends and rental owners in the area. It was spectacular. I could tell the minute I walked in that the interior design was done by Nerida DeJong, my favorite artist. It has the feel of old world charm with all desired modern comforts. (We quickly became owners of nespresso machines upon returning home.) There were just three of us staying in this huge estate, but felt it to be both warm and cozy due to the layout. As for location, what can I say...it is located in the most aesthetically pleasing little village in all of France. Oh I miss it already, but sure I will find my way back soon."

  • Fabuleux

"Il est difficile de trouver mieux comme location pour passer des vacances!!! Dépaysement total assuré, repos garanti dans un cadre idyllique où les yeux se régalent et peuvent contempler toute la vallée de Campan qui est juste une petite merveille... Quant à la maison, tout est aménagé avec gout et rien ne manque. Nous avons passé trois semaines de bonheur avec en prime la chaleur et le soleil, il y a beaucoup de choses à voir aux alentours et beaucoup de bonnes choses à déguster."

  • A great place to stay

"Seven adult members of our family stayed there. We used both the house and the flat below. The house and village have a lot of charm and good amenities. There was lots of space and places for us to have space to ourselves as well as good communal spaces. The views are stunning. There are many things to do visiting other places in the area and we enjoyed doing that in the seven days we spent there. It was good to have help at hand for advice etc from the manager living in the next street. We had two stunning family dinners at Chez Niko in the village square. The dinner on the night we arrived was a great way to start our time there. We hired a large van at Toulouse airport and using a tom tom managed to find our way to the house easily and get to all the places we wanted to visit in the area. Google searches produced a lot of information on well developed web sites about places to visit and things to do that were all enjoyable. The castle at Mauriac was one of many highlights. It is a shame the local Gaillac (Gai-ac) wines are not available at home. It was a great experience and a most enjoyable family holiday. The cost of living there for accommodation and food, visits etc was relatively low. You need to plan around services being shut over longish lunch periods and there being little open on Sundays and public holidays but there are still some cafes open and things to do. This was a great place to stay, it exceeded our expectations."

  • Wonderful relaxing holidy

"We spent two weeks relaxing in the house and garden. The house was comfortable, full of character and well equipped with everything that we needed. The beds and armchairs were very comfortable. The garden was wonderful. We spent hours just wandering around the garden, listening to the birds, absorbing the view, sunbathing and enjoying our meals under the shade of the trees. It was the first time we had visited Haut-Pyrenees, and certainly want to return. A half hour drive took us into the heart of the mountains, and spectacular scenery (especially following some of the Tour de France mountain passes). A memorable house and holiday - well worth the long drive from Wales!"
