  • Wonderful

"Thank you very much Nathalie for making the booking, and getting into the apartment a quick and relaxed experience. The apartment was perfectly situated in the heart of Beaune, and for the time we stayed there it was the perfect launching pad for our daily adventures. The apartment was across the street from a Boulangerie for your early morning 'Pain au chocolat' or your afternoon baguette, and a small grocery store was across the square. You were also a quick walk to many restaurants. The apartment in itself was great. The bed was comfortable, and perfectly spacious for two (we stayed in the studio) - We highly recommend this apartment for anyone wanting a romantic getaway in Beaune. Thanks again Nathalie for a wonderful experience."

  • Excellent trip

"We have just returned from a wonderful few days in Paris with our daughter, her husband and 10 year old and 14 year old granddaughters. The apartment was perfect and the girls loved the view of the Eiffel Tower especially when the lights sparkled at night. Everything was in easy reach either by walking or on a bus or metro Bertrand and Fabien were both extremely helpful and we will certainly stay there again when we are next in Paris"

  • A Room with a (Beautiful) View

"We stayed in the studio apartment in August 2014. It is in a lovely big old pink house situated right next to the Mediterranean. The studio is compact but very well designed and organised. Everything was very clean and convenient, but what made it so special was the generous balcony with an absolutely wonderful view. We spent quite a bit of our time sitting out on that balcony! Another important element of the studio was the excellent sofabed which unfolded really easily into a good-sized and surprisingly comfortable double bed.So we slept very well with the sound of the sea in the background. The garden leads down to the lovely coastal path along which we walked to Monaco to the East (about 30 minutes) and Mala beach to the West (about 15 minutes). There is a very good restaurant, about 100 metres from the apartment, where we ate dinner on two evenings. The walk up to the shops in the centre of the town takes about 15 minutes and although it is quite a steep incline it gives a splendid panoramic view over the coast and the sea.The walk down is much easier! There are one or two friendly good value restaurants there as well as a local boulangerie, a fruit and vegetable merchant, cafes, tabac and a small supermarket. We travelled to Cap-d'Ail by train and we did not have the car for the week, but this was not a problem at all. If you want to go further afield you can travel to Nice or other nearby coastal resorts very easily by train. The station is only a 5 minute walk from the apartment. Ornella was extremely helpful through her email communications and Nadine, who showed us around when we arrived, made sure that we had all the information we needed. Our time in Cap-dAil was blessed with glorious weather and we can thoroughly recommend this small but delightfully -situated apartment. A place to return to!"

  • A great place to stay

"Marc met us upon our arrival almost to the minute! Before we arrived he was very helpful via email with his recommendations about how to arrive from the airport to the apartment. I had also asked him about some areas to see while there, and Marc replied with his ideas while we were still in the U.S. How nice of him! This apartment is located in a safe and quiet street. After having toured the full day throughout Paris it was nice to return to this area. The Metro is right around the corner and very easy to use. The taxi stand, which we used to get to the airport, is right on the corner and there were taxis available, even early in the morning and on Sundays. The apartment was equipped well. We ended up only eating out three times because it was so much fun to shop and use the nice clean kitchen and have dinner in. Unwind. Relax. The bed is firm and VERY comfortable and the sheets and bedding are very fresh and clean. You can tell that the apartment is well cared for. It was spacious enough for walking around and feeling comfortable. Open the windows and let the light shine in! There are windows in every living area. Marc is very helpful, quick to respond to communication, and then he leaves you to enjoy a very remarkable and rich city! Staying here was a good experience."

Midi-Pyrenees Travel Tips

What to Expect near Your Midi-Pyrenees Vacation Rentals

The beautiful Midi-Pyrenees is set in the heart of southwest France and includes the cities of Toulouse, Foix, Cahors and Albi among many others. Its diverse, sparsely populated landscape, from the Tarn Gorges to the wooded hills of the Dordogne Valley, offer something for every visitor to enjoy. Quiet waterways for fishing, boating and walking, rugged mountain peaks, winter sports on the higher slopes and the religious center of pilgrimage at Lourdes are just some of the attractions. The area even has its own UNESCO World Heritage Site at the Cirque du Gavarnie. Small farms, dry stone walls and old shepherds’ huts are visible reminders of the former inhabitants who made their living from this land.

The Benefits of Midi-Pyrenees Accommodations

Most visitors to the area of the Midi-Pyrenees are looking for a quiet escape from busy city life, and Midi-Pyrenees villas offer just that. With no routines, no check-out times and no maids knocking on the door, it is the perfect answer for a relaxed, do-as-you-please vacation. Families find a spacious Midi-Pyrenees accommodation perfect for spreading out and doing their own thing. With well-appointed kitchens and dining areas, it is very easy to save money and eat well by shopping for fresh produce locally. Surrounded by unspoiled scenery and wildlife, staying in Midi-Pyrenees accommodations make good sense all round.

Places to Visit from Your Midi-Pyrenees Vacation Rentals

Toulouse is the capital of the Midi-Pyrenees area and dates back to pre-Christian times as the Gallic city of Tolosa. It has some of the most interesting 16th- and 17th-century Renaissance architecture in France, including the building which housed the Académie des Jeux Floraux in 1323 as well as the Bemberg Foundation which has a superb art collection spanning five centuries. The 18th-century town hall is also worth a visit.

Those who prefer more outdoor natural pursuits will prefer the Albi region, with its naturally formed Tarn River Gorges. It is ideal for walking and climbing as well as kayaking. Auch has a network of narrow streets just waiting to be discovered and the magnificent Cathedral of Sainte-Marie has some gorgeous stained glass windows in its classical façade. Older still are the ruins of the Ducal Castle at Foix which dates back to medieval times.

The Weather Around Midi-Pyrenees Villas

The Midi-Pyrenees region boasts around 2,000 hours of sunshine per year, making it one of the sunniest spots to stay in France. Throughout the summer, temperatures frequently exceed 25 C (77 F). The warm temperatures linger into October when a late “Indian summer” can usually be enjoyed. Winters are short and fairly mild, although the high peaks of the Pyrenees get plenty of snow which lasts into April. Spring is a popular time for visitors who enjoy hiking in the area. The fruit trees around the Tarn and Garonne districts are laden with showy blossoms.

Getting to Your Midi-Pyrenees Vacation Rentals

The main airports for those wishing to fly to their midi-Pyrenees accommodations are the Tarbes-Lourdes-Pyrenees Airport, the Toulouse-Blagnac Airport and the Rodez-Marcillac Airport. The excellent French rail network is one of the best ways to travel around France and most towns are connected by TGV or TER regional express trains. Driving around the French countryside is easy but check the rules of the road as they do differ from other countries. For example, carrying reflective jackets is now compulsory and the use of radar-detectors is illegal, unlike in other countries.

Things to Do Around Your Midi-Pyrenees Accommodations

Those who appreciate art will enjoy visiting Marciac, Saint-Cirq-Lapopie and Cordes sur Ciel, all popular with painters, sculptors and musicians. The magnificent Pyrenees National Park offers pine forests and waterfalls with high-altitude lakes such as the Cirque du Gavarnie. Unique experiences can be found at the impressive viaducts of Pic du Midi and Millau. The hieroglyphs of Figeac are all that remains of a culture going back thousands of years.
