No better place in the Provence inland
"A great place to stay. The view from the house and the terras at the Monte Sainte-Victoire is beautifull and so are the hikes you can make, as an example, from the house to either the magnificant rock next to the house or a bit longer hike to the top of the Sainte-Victoire: both with panoramic views. With Aix next door and the Luberon villages as well as the coatal villages Cassis and Bandol close by there is also more than enough for car day trips. The big and charming kitchen is the place to come together in the house and the terras and great swimming pool outside and in the evening. In the mean time Isabella and Jean-Pierre take immediate and very friendly care if there is something to ask for. We stayed with 4-8 people and there was plenty of space. Highly recommended."

"Amazing. Photos do not do La Calisanne justice. The setting is perfect -- in the hills above a small Provencal town, overlooking a valley of vineyards, small towns, and mountains in the distance. The infinity pool is right out of a movie. We spent every afternoon and evening (and some nights) lounging in the pool, amazed at our luck in finding this spot.
The house has been beautifully updated. It looks like a very traditional French house from the outside, but the inside is completely updated. Very modern, tasteful and clean. ACs in every room worked very well, even in 100 degree heat. Beautiful kitchen and luxurious baths. The kitchen is completely decked out with everything. We cooked large meals there 6 of our 7 nights and loved it.
The town of Bras is very small, but we ventured about an hour away (or less) every day and had a wonderful time (e.g. Cassis, St. Maximin, Aix, Fayence, Brignoles, etc.). It's a great location from which to explore the region.
The owners could NOT have been more helpful both before we arrived and while we were there. Amy email we sent with a question was immediately answered and, if necessary, someone was sent out to help.
I would recommend La Calisanne to anyone who wants a traditional, relaxed Provencal vacation."

"The only reason not to write an excellent review for this property would be to try to keep it all to oneself in the hope that no others would find out just how great it is. But that would do a great disservice to a wonderful host, Valerie Sutter.
We have rented in many countries and no place equals 48 Cours Mirabeau. It lacks nothing you might need. Valerie's anticipation of our needs was extraordinary. The terrace is a real bonus.
Others have written effusively about the apartment's location and Aix. To that I can add nothing. If you are a city person, you can't beat Aix for a medium-sized city with all the culture, food and shopping you could desire.
We live in Boulder CO. It is highly regarded as a place to live. Aix beats it by a mile.
We spent July 2015 at 48 Cours Mirabeau. The temperature was mostly in the high 90's while we were here. That would have been enough to ruin many a vacation. Not here. We could always retreat to the apartment's air conditioning after some time exploring.
The bed is full-sized. That worried us as we have a king-size at home. But it is an excellent bed and we slept well.
We did not have a car, but found the local Aix-en-bus pass more than adequate to get around including going out to the nearby countryside villages for wine fairs etc."

"Accueil charmant! Gite très confortable et meublé avec gout...Tout est pensé, jusque dans les moindres détails. C'est impeccable de propreté. Le jardin est agréable et la piscine aux bonnes dimensions. Les hôtes ont su nous conseiller de belles promenade aux alentours. La proximité de la ville d'Aix nous a permis de trouver de bons restaurants. Le séjour s'est parfaitement déroulé et nous reviendrons éventuellement avec grand plaisir et n'hésiterons pas à conseiller cette location à des amis"
