  • Lovely Aix apartment perfectly located

"My husband and I spent three nights in this charming apartment when we came to Aix for the opera festival. It was our first visit to Aix. We chose this apartment based on this website's photos and reviews, and were delighted with the choice. As other reviewers have said, the apartment is lovely, very clean, well-equipped and comfortable. The location was perfect for us: we knew from maps that it was an easy walk to the center of the old town and to the opera venues, but we didn't realize until we went to Aix that it also was just far enough outside the center to be peaceful and quiet, a real boon in the summertime during the festival. We were also very glad to meet the apartment's owners, who could not have been warmer, more helpful or more gracious hosts. While being completely unintrusive, they invited us to use their pool and to join them for an aperitif (Alain's homemade orange wine) and local delicacies. We are so pleased we accepted the invitation – the visit with them was a real pleasure."

  • C'est magnifique! Wonderful place to stay

"We cannot say enough about the beautiful stone house. My family and friends stayed for two weeks. When we arrived it was spotlessly clean (thanks, Christine!) -- and there was plenty of room -- inside and out -- for all of us. We used the laundry, cooked fabulous meals, and enjoyed the pool. This is a perfect place for a large group. Bruno was responsive and helpful and kind. We will be back. Thank you."

  • Fantastic location!

"I don't believe there's a better spot from which to tour this part of Provence. St Cannat is a lovely village: one can easily and rapidly walk to anyone of a number of bakeries; the Italian produce shop; the 'convenience' market; and everyone one sees each day shopping is so kind. There are also bistro type eateries in short walking distance + the local market (Wednesdays) is just up the street. So it's easy to supply the house and Babeth, of course, could not be more helpful (you need your French with Babeth.) There were 5 of us coming and going - 2 travelers ended up not going, due to an air traffic controller strike - but the house and the car could accommodate all 5 of us. Wonderful kitchen and central/common room. We ate breakfast at home most often and travelled most days - we saw almost everything on the 'list' in 5 weeks; never had a problem street parking at night, either. Cynthia is wonderful to work with - she gave some free days at the end of April as the house was available. We loved having Les Bougainvilliers as our home away from home and recommend it highly. My family wants to spend a month there now. My only warning: it's hard to come home."

  • Great for family french immersion year abroad, extended stay

"Our family of 5 (kids aged 7,9,11) spent a wonderful school year in Puyloubier. We lived in the Pierre Jacquemet house from August 2013 to July 2014. The house is in a great location and is just a 2 minute walk to the bakeries, cafe, store, post office, bank machine, playground and elementary school. Puyloubier is a very welcoming village in a beautiful setting surrounded by vineyards and located at the foot of Sainte Victoire. A great Southern France experience for the whole family. The house has a great terrace with BBQ, a nice main bathroom and a lovely family room. It is well equipped and furnished which is hugely convenient for an easy extended stay. The local caretakers, Melina and Eric, are great people who are extremely welcoming and professional. Beth and Tony are great landlords. All around a great family experience."
