  • Where to stay in Aix!!

"Look no further- this is the place to stay in Aix. Looks out over the Cours Mirabeau, fabulously furnished, well appointed kitchen, location, location, location! My husband and I stayed a week at this charming studio apartment and really enjoyed our time. It was so fun to open the windows and see and hear all the happenings on the street. We got to meet Christian who was welcoming and gracious. The apartment absolutely met our needs - and we enjoyed some leisurely mornings with the great sunlight. I agree with previous reviewers who said the stairs were good exercise after eating gelato and les pain de chocolat. Overall, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place for anyone - it's really just perfect. We enjoyed doing some cooking, making coffee in the French press, and basking in the natural light. The bed was really comfy, washer and dryer were handy, the shower was a little tight (good use of small space!) but great attachments! We will definitely stay here again if we get back to Aix - thank you Christian and Sherrie!"

  • An ideal vacation home in Aix

"In Aix en Provence we found the perfect apartment for two retired U.S. travelers who used trains and buses to explore Provence. The location was ideal, just at one end of the Cours Mirabeau and within walking distance of every interesting museum and other point of interest, as well as close to open food and flea markets and beautiful food stores. The apartment was exactly as described: clean, newly furnished and with every comfort. The wifi worked perfectly, the kitchen was well equipped, the TV gave us access to many channels as well as music. The bedroom was quiet and comfortable. We easily walked to major restaurants and to buses and trains (to Marseille, Arles, Avignon and Orange, all well worth day trips.) Only one cautionary note: the TGV trains arrrive at a station that is a 40-Euro cab ride to the apartment. But it was worth it. M. Roquigny was prompt, friendly and did everything he promised. We would return."

  • Outstanding rental!

"An outstanding rental property. Located in historic downtown. The house is pristine and very nicely appointed. The accommodation was exactly as portrayed on the website. The owner goes above and beyond to answer questions. She even phoned to reserve our bus tickets in French. We stayed for the month of May 2014. Would highly recommend this rental and would definitely use it again."

  • Owner and Manager went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable...

"You can read the other reviews to see all the reasons you should choose La Boheme so I won't be redundant. However, what makes this place special is the care and attention to the details. When I talked the owner a week before our arrival Danielle she informed me the washer/dryer wasn't working, and she wasn't sure she could replace it in time. She told me there was a laundry close by, so it didn't seem to be a deal breaker. But when the manager met us he said that Danielle agreed to pay to have our clothes cleaned. We left them out and the manager picked them up while we were sightseeing and returned them the next day folded and clean. When I told Guillaume (manager) that the lighting was terrible for reading and there were too few drinking glasses for 4 people, we found bulbs replaced, a bedside reading light and two boxes of new drinking glasses. I call that amazing service... the difference between an owner who is renting and one who is a true owner/host. Bravo Danielle!"

Aix en Provence Area Travel Tips

Artful and Fantastic Aix-en-Provence Rentals

The region of Provence, France is famous not only for its fabulous foods and quintessential “French” atmosphere; it is also the location of Aix-en-Provence, a small city toward the south. The city was home to artist Cezanne, and it is where you will find the TGV (high speed train) which brings many visitors to their Aix-en-Provence rentals. Provence travel would not be the same without a stay in Aix.

Luxury Is Mandatory at Your Aix-en-Provence Accommodation

Because the city has always been a rich and opulent one, any Aix-en-Provence accommodation you select is bound to be luxurious and beautiful. Be prepared to spend a bit of money on Aix-en-Provence rentals. However, the price is well worth it as the city is both quiet and clean with the charm of a small French town that allows for plenty of nice, long walks. In fact, the city center consists of mostly very old buildings along narrow streets.

Provence Travel Means Exploring Everywhere

You will want to leave your Aix-en-Provence accommodation to explore the city on foot. As you go up and down the narrow, winding streets, you will catch a glimpse of the wonderful fountains for which Aix-en-Provence is famous. Be sure not to miss the Cours Mirabeau on the main avenue. Other fountains draw their water from hot springs nearby. Additionally, during your Provence travel, you will want to take note of the impressive architecture throughout Aix which boasts intricate and detailed doors, bell towers, and wrought iron.

You Will Eat Well When Staying in Aix-en-Provence Rentals

Provence Travel does not mean that you will just be walking around Aix-en-Provence and eating French food which probably is not such a bad idea! Any Aix-en-Provence accommodation is situated quite close to the many billiards, pubs, restaurants, and cafes in and around town. If you would like to leave the city for a bit, catch the bus to St. Victoire to climb a mountain, have a picnic, and view the old monastery. Though you can stay at the monastery at night, you may want to return to your luxurious Aix-en-Provence rentals anyway!
