  • WOW! Great apartment

"We're back home physically, but mentally we are still back in this great apartment in Aix. Helene (the owner) was easy to deal with, speaks English, and was helpful with local information. Located 1 floor up from street level this modern and sparking clean apartment overlooks an open air plaza (approx. 3 acres). With the shutters and windows closed, it was dead quiet, but we enjoyed watching the street scene below. We would definitely recommend it to friends"

  • Highly recommend

"Beautiful villa! Seven of us spent a glorious week in this truly remarkable villa. The grounds are amazing with a beautiful pool, outdoor seating (where we spent our evenings eating and drinking French wine!) and lavender fields. Step inside and you’re transcended to a perfect balance of an authentic French villa tastefully updated to provide modern day comforts (top notch appliances and plumbing). The villa is incredibly spacious with a large, well-equipped, modern kitchen and seating area, a beautiful winding stone stairway, spacious bedrooms, a cozy sitting area and large, beautiful windows that provide wonderful light and great views of the property. The pictures truly don’t do this villa justice and it exceeded all of our expectations. Houria, the housekeeper, was gracious and hospitable and stopped by everyday to do light cleaning. We used this location as our base and traveled to many towns, all within an 1-1.5 hour drive, including St. Remy, Cassis, Avignon, Aix, Bonnieux, LaCoste, Pont du Gard and Lourmarin. Pelissanne is a short 10 minute drive with a grocery and local restaurants. The owner was very responsive and provided a very helpful package of information about the surrounding areas, including local markets and restaurants. This villa will not disappoint and all of us highly recommend a stay."

  • Wonderful villa, great location

"This is a wonderful property, in Rousset, a charming village 15 kilometers from Aix-en-Provence. A modern home with a traditional feel, the villa is well designed and tastefully furnished by the very friendly English-speaking owners, who live here eight months of the year. Thre three upstairs bedrooms are comfortable, as are the two upstairs bathrooms. The kitchen is large and well equiped, and the living and dining rooms are spacious and comfortable as well. A sunny terrace runs the length of the house, with floor-to-ceiling doors opening onto the terrace from every first-floor room. The yard and the pool get plenty of sun, and privacy is assured by trees and hedging that surround the property. Convenient to Aix (a twenty-minute drive) and small villages in the Mnt. St. Victoire area, the villa served as an ideal base for exploring nearby vineyards and other attractions, or a a spot just to hang out on a nice day. We've rented many houses in Provence over the years, and we liked this one best of all!"

Aix en Provence Area Travel Tips

Artful and Fantastic Aix-en-Provence Rentals

The region of Provence, France is famous not only for its fabulous foods and quintessential “French” atmosphere; it is also the location of Aix-en-Provence, a small city toward the south. The city was home to artist Cezanne, and it is where you will find the TGV (high speed train) which brings many visitors to their Aix-en-Provence rentals. Provence travel would not be the same without a stay in Aix.

Luxury Is Mandatory at Your Aix-en-Provence Accommodation

Because the city has always been a rich and opulent one, any Aix-en-Provence accommodation you select is bound to be luxurious and beautiful. Be prepared to spend a bit of money on Aix-en-Provence rentals. However, the price is well worth it as the city is both quiet and clean with the charm of a small French town that allows for plenty of nice, long walks. In fact, the city center consists of mostly very old buildings along narrow streets.

Provence Travel Means Exploring Everywhere

You will want to leave your Aix-en-Provence accommodation to explore the city on foot. As you go up and down the narrow, winding streets, you will catch a glimpse of the wonderful fountains for which Aix-en-Provence is famous. Be sure not to miss the Cours Mirabeau on the main avenue. Other fountains draw their water from hot springs nearby. Additionally, during your Provence travel, you will want to take note of the impressive architecture throughout Aix which boasts intricate and detailed doors, bell towers, and wrought iron.

You Will Eat Well When Staying in Aix-en-Provence Rentals

Provence Travel does not mean that you will just be walking around Aix-en-Provence and eating French food which probably is not such a bad idea! Any Aix-en-Provence accommodation is situated quite close to the many billiards, pubs, restaurants, and cafes in and around town. If you would like to leave the city for a bit, catch the bus to St. Victoire to climb a mountain, have a picnic, and view the old monastery. Though you can stay at the monastery at night, you may want to return to your luxurious Aix-en-Provence rentals anyway!
