  • The Apple of Avignon

"My wife and I (mid 60's) spent one week in October at Francis's flat in the heart of Avignon. His place was generous in size, clean and comfortable and made it the perfect spot to explore Avignon and the surrounding small villages and open markets in Provence. Francis also included a very detailed booklet for each one of his guests, that included just about as much information on Provence as did Rick Steeves travel guide. So we went with Francis's booklet and every recommendation was fabulous. The only thing a person should be concerned about, if they are watching their weight, is this 'to die for' patisserie that is located about 100 feet from his place. Our ritual was each morning we began the day with coffee and a plate of French pastries....what a way to live!! We both highly recommend his flat, and we will definitely be doing another trip this way and will stay at his place much longer....one week was just not enough."

  • Wonderful Host and Charming House!

"We are a group of 3 adults and 2 teen age girls, and stayed at Mathilde charming house for 2 nights on our way from Paris to Barcelona. What a wonderful experience it was! The house is located just outside old town Avignon, in a very good and safe neighborhood that has a village feel. A huge and very good grocery store is a short 5 minutes drive away. The location is perfect if you visit the area by car. Avignon, Nimes, Pont du Gard, Arles, Gordes, and many other attractions are all a short drive away. The house is warm, charming, and comfortable. Too bad we did not have the chance to use the pool, but we can picture ourselves coming back during the summer, cooking up a BBQ meal with inexpensive and great wines from the grocery store while enjoying Provence sunshine in the pool. Communication with Mathilde was smooth and prompt prior to our arrival. When we arrived at the house, we were greeted by Mathilde with a bottle of wine and a beautiful fruit basket. Mathilde is a wonderful lady and is very accommodating, explaining everything in great details and with patience. The stay exceeded our expectation!"

  • Beautiful rental in perfect location!

"We enjoyed staying at this apartment during a recent 5 day visit to Avignon. The guest space was used by our daughter and new son-in-law, which gave them some privacy. The main unit was so beautiful, stone walls, beamed ceilings, comfortable furniture. It was great to have the garden space because we used it for several meals, and for sitting our with a glass of wine after a busy day. I would be happy to recommend this property to a friend or relative and would be happy to return for another visit myself!"

  • Quiet, charming, flat in the heart of Old Town Avignon

"My partner and I spent a full month at Jack's flat during February of 2015 and enjoyed everything about it. We wanted to experience life in Avignon ..........living in a real-life neighborhood, practising our French, soaking up ambience ........and this cozy place allowed us to do just that. We loved that it's a reflection of the local culture and not a quasi-American apartment that could have been anywhere. Super comfortable with a well-equipped kitchen, great TV and wi-fi, and within a block of groceries, bakery, Mon Bar (our hang-out with the locals) and a few blocks from all the main historic sites which are magnificent. So many restaurants to choose from that we couldn't get to them all ..........and these activities were all enjoyed on foot, with no vehicle. Jack is a caring and fully responsive host and responded to all our queries immediately. A lovely bonus is the notebook in the flat with super suggestions for dining and outings created over time by previous guests. We'll always feel as though Avignon is "home" and would return again in a heartbeat. Thank you so much, Jack!"
