"Villa Briancon was everything its description promised - and more. It has the most magnificent view across to the old town and is extremely well situated, especially if you have a car (or two, as we had).
The owners, Gilles and Isabelle, who live in the apartment below, were extremely welcoming and helpful without being intrusive and we quickly felt very much at home.
The property, which was spotlessly clean when we arrived, is spacious and well laid out and was always warm with plenty of hot water - particularly appreciated after a day's skiing! Everyone in our party (five adults, three teenage boys) agreed the beds were comfortable and plenty of bedding and linen was provided. The kitchen is well equipped, with every appliance and utensil you could need and a large supermarket and shopping centre is just 5 minutes walk down the hill for provisions.
We booked our ski passes and hired equipment from the Briancon ski centre which is just minutes away by car but as it was the New Year week we were advised that it would be less busy to ski from Chantemerle, 3-4 kilometres up the road, and this area was our focus for the week. Providing you arrive reasonably early in the morning you can park close to the gondola station (5 euros a day) or there is a larger parking area (free) on the outskirts, a 5-10 minute walk from the gondola station, depending on how much kit you are carrying! The speedy gondola takes you up to the slopes and there's a good range of runs to choose from as well as plenty of cafes and this ski area kept our party (a mix of beginners to advanced intermediates) happy for the week.
It was a pleasure to return home to Villa Briancon each evening and we have no hesitation in recommending it to friends or relatives. We imagine it must also be a wonderful base in the summer months - something for us to think about for the future?"

"We spent one week in this magical farmhouse and had an amazing time. I would highly recommend it and can't wait to return. The property is secluded and breathtakingly beautiful with a wonderful view of Murs in the distance. The lavender field on the property is spectacular. The house is lovely and impeccably updated. It exudes sophisticated French interiors and elegance with the charm of a country house. The photos do not do it justice! The home has two lovely, large living areas with fireplaces and a very large and exceptionally well-appointed country kitchen that has everything for the gourmet cook. We enjoyed everyone cooking together in this very spacious and beautiful kitchen. The house lives even larger as the terraces, outdoor dining area, and pool are lovely and surrounded by exquisite grounds and landscaping. We dined al fresco every night. The bedrooms are elegantly appointed and very comfortable. There are two masters with large bathrooms with showers and tubs, a smaller yet just as charming room with a small shower bath and a fourth small bedroom with a very small bath and it's own separate entrance on the ground floor. House is close to Gordes which is an amazing medieval town perched on a hillside that we went to every morning to get fresh croissants and fruit for breakfast. It has everything one would need for the week. The house was a great jumping off point to tour the Luberon and surrounding areas. Beverly was easy and delightful to work with and very responsive to our needs. The house does not have air-conditioning so can get toasty in sweltering heat, but for average warm days of summer, the thick walls keep it cool and there is a lovely breeze on the patio for delightful summer evenings. Would go back again to Mas do Roquejeane in a heartbeat!"
