  • Have your own place with a touch of B&B

"We have just returned from 16 nights in France. 7 nights at La Madone in Apt. The apartment was roomy and comfortable. Warm bread and pain au chocolat arrive at your door each morning. We especially enjoyed apertifs in the garden with the other residents and our host and hostess. A bit of converstion with Nathalie and Jean-Bernard was a delight. We may never get the opportunity to return, but would love to if it were possible. The location in Apt makes touring the mountain top towns (we had a car/no gps) and the lavender fields easy navigating Necessities like groceries were easily available. A good choice all around."

  • Nice place to stay

"In the middle of town. Frederique stayed all afternoon and met us even though we were very late getting there. She was extremely kind and full of information. Nearby are restaurants, grocery, laundromat, parking, sites, etc. Small but comfortable. Obviously cared for well. Price can't be beaten."

  • Comfortable and Quiet Stay with Helpful Owner

"Very comfortable and quiet villa, with everything needed for a peaceful stay in a leafy, residential hillside area just outside the main town. The owner is charming, and exceptionally helpful (even driving us to and from the rail station, which was very kind - and dropping us off in town one morning when she spotted us toiling up the hill). She also did some shopping for us - again very helpful. Would give 5 stars except for a couple of issues which others perhaps need to know before booking. Firstly, the air-con unit is upstairs in the 'open' 3rd bedroom so if you shut the doors of the 2 downstairs bedrooms, you are stiflingly hot during the night if the temperatures are high (our visit unfortunately coincided with a heatwave). Secondly, there isn't much of a garden, and the (small) pool isn't just shared ... its right in front of the owner's house, so not very private. Thirdly, if you are without transport, its 10 mins uphill to the bus-stop, or 45 mins walk into town. Do-able, but mostly along very busy main roads, so not particularly pleasant. Finally, our mistake was to assume we could rely on taxis quite a bit. We couldn't as there simply weren't any! Also we didn't realise the last bus back at night leaves just before 10pm - we missed it - although the walk home certainly helped us to digest our supper. Villa is also close to Villeneuve les Avignon (we walked there in about 40 mins, although there are also buses) which is really charming and highly recommended with plenty to see and do, restaurants etc."

  • A relaxing holiday for three generations

"Les Moulins is a very comfortable, spacious residence in a most attractive part of the Luberon. There is easy access to a main road, quick entry to the nearest town and close proximity to several places of interest . The house, itself, has great character and the owners have made sure that all possible needs are met. It is obvious that much thought has gone into making sure that one is treated as a welcome guest. We were warmly greeted and both arrival and departure were made to fit our particular travel needs. The attractive garden and pool were much used. There is a very large living room which was not used very much by us as the sunny kitchen and terrace were too much of a draw. We found restaurants to cope easily with a group of eleven - at Bonnieux and at Café de France in Lacoste . It really helped to keep a high standard of provision having mid-week cleaning and pool- cleaning services. We would have no hesitation in re-visiting or in recommending to friends. With a little additional upgrading to the spacious master suite we would consider it "five star"."
