  • A most memorable vacation stay

"I just returned from a 5-night stay at this charming Avignon property and found the owner, Bertrand, to be most hospitable and accomodating. He has gone through great lengths to make this VRBO rental feel like home and it shows. This unit has it all; view, location, amentities and most of all it feel likes home. I'd go back here year after year if I was to continously vacation in this area. If you are seeking a rental in a world-class destination don't hestitate to use this as your central location for touring the Provence region. Although a car is highly desirable for flexibility, it is not a necessity provided you are comfortable using the train. This unit is on a 3rd floor in a building that doesn't have an elevator so that should be considered in your plans. There are so many restaurants, bakeries and grocery stores withing a 5 - 10 minute walk that you won't go hungry. Highly recommended proveded it meets your needs!"

  • Lovely and most relaxing home! Highly recommend...

"Our family travelled to Europe in July-August for 3 weeks stopping for a few days first in Switzerland prior to making the drive to Southern France. Les Arches was all what we expected of a maison in the Luberon area and much more - it was just perfect for us! Photos did not really do justice in showing how fabulous this house is and its surroundings! The house is gorgeous - it is not surprised that it was featured in the Architectural Digest. Our kids enjoyed the pool and the view is just absolutely beautiful overlooking a hill and a cooperative vineyard (I think)- we ate every night in the outdoor dining area and watch the golden sunset and swallows fly by. The bedrooms are a good size, beds very comfortable, with a nice laundry area off the master bedroom. We love the little French kitchen and the formal dining area, and the interior of the house and its furnishings. Our kids enjoyed watching the village cats from their window. We used Les Arches as our base camp to travel around Provence - scenic drive to Nice, Marseilles, Arles, Avignon, Cannes, and Valensole and other nearby towns for the lavender and sunflower fields. Ansouis is a small, quaint and quiet village and it was really what we wanted and it was perfect for us - locals are friendly and I think knowing a little French or making an effort to speak French is appreciated (though spoke with an American accent). There is a small patisserie with excellent baguettes, petit fours and coffee! We often get up early to the sounds of the local church bells and walk up to the patisserie. Karen and Hans, the caretakers, are very warm, friendly, and very knowledgeable about the area so, ask them about shopping (Lourmarin is my favorite but get there really early!), restaurants, vineyard, etc...There is so much to see! Thank you Karen and Hans! Curcuron, the setting of the movie "A good year" is close by and has a great market and restaurant. Denise, the owner, is very accommodating and responsive to our questions. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with our family! It was a perfect get away for all of us and would want to return soon. Just a tip in renting a car - get a small one to easily navigate the narrow streets."

  • A GEM IN THE HEARTH OF PROVENCE

"We were three couples in our sixty and stayed at the Renardière from Sept 27th to Oct 4Th. The house surpassed all of our expectations. It is beautifully decorated, ultra clean and has all accessories you may need from kitchen utensils to laundry soap and wood for the fireplace. There are 3 rooms all on separate floor and each with its own peculiarity. We had the top unit but count 45 stairs to go up!!! Better not to forget anything. Sylvain the housekeeper is at your service during the whole stay. He greets you with a warm welcome and tours the property explaining everything. Should you need anything he is there to help you. The only caveat is that if you have mobility problem this property is probably not for you.The whole is way better than on the picture. In town do not miss the restaurant La Voute. The owner Guy and his wife Mercedes are simply adorable and the food exquisite and reasonably priced. Anyone we met in the village was nice to us and seemed to appreciate our business. There is a good cafe/tobacco store where they serve a super expresso or for those with a more delicate palate and creamy cappuccino. The grocery store has everything you may need and the small bakery has fresh bread and croissant daily. We went to la Bastide des Moines and truly enjoyed our buffet style meal. Contrary to comments on trip advisor we found we had good value for a fix price of 25 euros although the wine was very ordinary. Jacqueline at the restaurant le Relais will greet you with excellent family dining. The location is ideal to visit les Gorges du Verdon, St-Maxime for its boutique and restaurant, St-Tropez for its glamour, Callas for its olive oil, Draguignan, Chateau Ste-Roseline for its excellent wine and the beach of Tahiti not to be missed although on the expensive side. Finally dealing with the owner was smooth and efficient and his contract is clearly written. Once payment has been made you will receive all the infos you need to truly enjoy your stay. Thanks for keeping such a beautiful property available to us. It is truly a gem in Provence."

  • C'etait merveilleux!

Christiane (Allemagne/Rhenanie-du-Nord-Westphalie)"
