Our month in Provence
"Mas de la Vallette was the perfect house for our family of 12 to gather! We had a magical month, in the heart of Provence, but away from the hustle and bustle of the busy towns. We could stroll down into Joucas for pastries every morning, then drive to one of the many towns and villages and wineries, all within a short drive. We would have lunch, then return home for naps, swims, and dinner. It was a great schedule for a group ranging in age from 11 to 80. Five of the nights a chef came in to prepare delicious dinners. Otherwise we shopped at the Super U or brought things from the markets. The outside gas grill was much in use. Our house manager, Beverly Ferritz, was lovely and helpful in any number of ways. She was always available and responsive to our needs. We considered her our Guardian Angel. It was truly a once in a lifetime holiday for all of our family."

"My wife and I had the good fortune to stay at Ancienne Poste. After arriving in Marseille, we rented a car and drove just over an hour to Menerbes. Corinne, the property manager greeted us at the door and couldn't have been more gracious. The property has a beautiful architectural design mixing the old with the new. The owner has decorated the home with lovely photos and artwork from his own travels. The rooftop terrace offered a magnificent view of the valley and neighboring villages. Menerbes itself is a quaint little jewel dating back centuries. It was a pleasure to walk through the village and purchase fresh bread and pastries from the local bakery. During the week there was an outdoor market where vendors sold fresh meats, dairy products and some of the freshest fruit we have ever eaten! Of a course, the local vineyards offered delicious wines. The entire region is rich in history and we thoroughly enjoyed exploring the surrounding area. From fields of lavender to hiking, biking and walking through villages that were centuries old, we were never at a loss as to what to do. Our vacation could not have been better and we returned home with a renewed spirit and lasting memories!"

"Villa Briancon was everything its description promised - and more. It has the most magnificent view across to the old town and is extremely well situated, especially if you have a car (or two, as we had).
The owners, Gilles and Isabelle, who live in the apartment below, were extremely welcoming and helpful without being intrusive and we quickly felt very much at home.
The property, which was spotlessly clean when we arrived, is spacious and well laid out and was always warm with plenty of hot water - particularly appreciated after a day's skiing! Everyone in our party (five adults, three teenage boys) agreed the beds were comfortable and plenty of bedding and linen was provided. The kitchen is well equipped, with every appliance and utensil you could need and a large supermarket and shopping centre is just 5 minutes walk down the hill for provisions.
We booked our ski passes and hired equipment from the Briancon ski centre which is just minutes away by car but as it was the New Year week we were advised that it would be less busy to ski from Chantemerle, 3-4 kilometres up the road, and this area was our focus for the week. Providing you arrive reasonably early in the morning you can park close to the gondola station (5 euros a day) or there is a larger parking area (free) on the outskirts, a 5-10 minute walk from the gondola station, depending on how much kit you are carrying! The speedy gondola takes you up to the slopes and there's a good range of runs to choose from as well as plenty of cafes and this ski area kept our party (a mix of beginners to advanced intermediates) happy for the week.
It was a pleasure to return home to Villa Briancon each evening and we have no hesitation in recommending it to friends or relatives. We imagine it must also be a wonderful base in the summer months - something for us to think about for the future?"

"We stayed at La Maison des Arches in mid-August for a week long Girls Getaway and it was perfect. The house is gorgeous. We found the village of Ansouis to be very charming with just the right amount of conveniences . Our days were spent exploring Provence, having delicious lunches and visiting the local markets. At the end of the day we relaxed by the pool and enjoyed the beautiful sunsets. We sat on the patio and ate our evening meal of local cheeses, meats, olives, bread, pastries from the boulangerie and local wine - heaven! The kitchen is well stocked, the house is beautifully furnished and the beds are very comfortable. We enjoyed meeting Christina, who is the caretaker. The owner, Denise was very helpful and made us feel right at home. It was truly a wonderful vacation."
