Great family vacation in a wonderful, comfortable renovated farmhouse
"The house exceeded our expectations which were based on photographs that turned out to be out of date (the wooden deck surrounding the swimming pool and the tiling installed underneath the courtyard seating arrangement were much appreciated improvements). The photographs on the VRBO website have since been updated, but still don't quite do the house and the surrounding property justice.
The house worked very well for our group of eight adults, especially with each bedroom having its own bathroom, all the beds being comfortable and the kitchen being well-equipped and spacious with French doors opening onto a covered patio. We enjoyed most of our meals at the big table on that patio. It quickly became one of our favourite gathering spots and whoever was cooking did not feel cut off from the rest of us. The house and its outdoor spaces offered quite a few options for gathering as a group or finding a more isolated spot for a nap, some reading or just peace and quiet. We appreciated the neutral, calm décor and the use of natural materials. The swimmers and sunbathers among us enjoyed the swimming pool and its deck. The gardeners among us appreciated the plantings of lavender, roses, olive trees, oleander, campsis, wisteria, hydrangeas, etc. The house was ideally located for exploring the charming villages of the Luberon and beyond and Avignon's TGV train station was within easy reach when one in our party needed to leave early.
The owner is friendly and responsive. Housekeeper Myriam and her team are wonderful: helpful, courteous and hardworking yet unobtrusive. The same can be said of the individuals handling the gardening and pool maintenance chores.
We have rented many houses in Provence and Brittany over the years for our family vacations. This one is our favourite to date and the rental arrangements were very straightforward without any fuss. While we have never rented the same house twice (wanting to explore different areas), this house may well become the exception."

"Words cannot adequately describe what an amazing property this is! I wanted to spend my 40th birthday in a beautiful location with friends and family, and I cannot imagine a more perfect spot than Le Tresor Cache.
The house is located in a prime spot for exploring the Luberon. We'd visit the local villages in the morning to pick up supplies for the day, and then spend most of the afternoon swimming in the pool. The kitchen is well stocked, and we enjoyed cooking there most nights. We also had Angelina cook a couple of nights. She was very lovely, and if possible, make sure she cooks a potato gratin for you. Her deserts are amazing too.
Some of the highlights of our trip:
Farmers market in Coustellet (only in summers)
Maison Gouin in Coustellet- picked up wine, pates, salami, and steaks to grill
Driving to Bonnieux in the mornings for pastries
Riding bikes on the windy roads
Walking to Pont Julien
Hiring a private boat in Marseille and swimming in the Callanques
Wine tasting in Chateauneuf du Pape
Buying rose at Chateau la Canorgue (just down the street)
Watching the sunset at Lacoste
Market days (any of them!)
Berverly was super helpful throughout the whole process. Especially when I had to call her from the airport when they lost our luggage! She gave the airlines directions to the house so they could deliver it a couple days later. She also checked in during the trip to make sure we had everything we needed.
It was a wonderful vacation, and I highly recommend this property. We loved it so much that we're going back in March for a family celebration!"

"This house offers more than what the listing says: a soul, character, absolute calm, and a wonderful sense of isolation, despite being very close to Bonnieux. It is fully equipped for everything, including small children, which mean we did not have to bring cot beds, dining table boosters, or kids plates and glasses etc. Our kids absolutely loved it. Marc and his team are super responsive and helpful. It is rare to find a place that is beyond expectations like this. We and our friends had a blast. Strongly recommended."
